HALIFAX - Nova Scotia is suffering through its third blizzard in a week.

In Halifax on Sunday afternoon, roads are covered with snow and buses are not running. The few drivers on the streets are facing near whiteout conditions.

Halifax on Sunday
Almost all flights in and out of the Halifax airport have been cancelled.

Environment Canada is forecasting up to 25 cm of heavy and blowing snow Sunday, with more early Monday. Winds gusting up to 70 km/hr are driving the snow and obscuring vision.

The storm is expected to bring as much as 40 cm of snow to some areas.

It appears Cape Breton Island will get the most with a total of close to 70 cm before it's over.

There were bad storms in the Maritimes a week ago, and on Thursday.

Southern New Brunswick will get a smaller dump of about 15 cm. But Prince Edward Island will face up to 45 cm by the time the storm passes on Monday.

Next in line is Newfoundland. There's a blizzard warning in St. John's, where the storm will hit late Sunday, Environment Canada says. There will be up to 30 cm of snow by Monday morning.
