Two 9/11 Hijackers Used College Computers

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Two of the Sept. 11 hijackers used a public-access computer at a New Jersey college library to buy tickets for the plane they seized and crashed into the Pentagon, a federal prosecutor said.

Ken Wainstein, U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, made the disclosure Thursday during a congressional hearing in which the Bush administration pushed for renewal of provisions of the Patriot Act that make it easier for investigators to obtain library and other records.

Wainstein said the hijackers used the computers four times in August 2001, including once on Aug. 30 to check on reservations that had been made for Sept. 11. He said the Internet accounts used were registered to hijackers Nawaf Alhamzi and Khalid Almihdhar.

Wainstein did not identify the college. But an official with William Paterson University in Wayne - the state college closest to where the hijackers lived just before the attacks - said investigators had seized several public-access computers from the library shortly after the attacks.

Judiciary Committee Chairman F. James Sensenbrenner Jr., R-Wis., said the testimony highlighted the need to renew certain Patriot Act provisions.

"We put Americans' lives at risk if we foolishly provide sanctuaries - even in our public libraries - for terrorists to operate," he said.

Alhamzi and Almihdhar were two of the five hijackers who seized American Airlines Flight 77 after it took off from Dulles International Airport outside Washington and crashed it into the Pentagon.

They were among as many as six Sept. 11 hijackers who lived in Paterson shortly before the attacks.

Idiots... what a total joke, scam and deadly insult all in one.

They must think people are fools.

They were among as many as six Sept. 11 hijackers who lived in Paterson shortly before the attacks. Ya, that doesn't mean anything...

Shecoda, I greatly fear that the people who did 9-11 used a hell of a lot more than college computers. In fact, when I reflect on what they did use, on which they were allowed to use, then I begin to become very, very afraid of who they might actually be.

It stands to reason, Shecoda, that if ragheads employed college PCs to plan the dastardly deed, then college campuses must supervise college PCs very, very carefully, and if college students are downloading nude Pamela Anderson pix during finals week, then the Department of Homeland Security needs to be informed --- immediately --- of such terrorist activity. On the other hand, maybe booking a flight on college PCs may be the safest way to do it. Because, from what I hear, at least seven of the 19 dead ragheads rose from the dead on 9-11 and are walking around, free as a bird, in Arab countries. Indeed, some of them even went to the American Embassies of their home countries to register this biographical fact. But our American Embassies told them, very sensibly, to go back to their coffins, since they were obviously dead.

Now if only they had registered those black boxes through a college PC. Hmmm.... Maybe then, they would have been found in the rubble. As, of course, they never were. But they did find Mohammed Atta's passport --- intact. And this, of course, is yet another argument to book your flights through a college PC: if you don't make it, at least your passport will, no?

:D

I just post em. I don't make comments on them. I've read everything posted in articles and in the conspiracy section, and I know enough to say that I am not getting into the fray over this issue.

But you all go ahead, I post different articles hoping to reach the large array of people who inhabit the forum, to give various people something to think about and potentially discuss.
