View Full Version : Is Anyone Prepared??

The more time goes by, the closer it feels to a "Terminator" kind of world - but instead of robots/cyborgs/computers controlling everything, it's the NWO...

Does anyone have contingency plans for:

a) Life after peak oil and major resource limitations that force an ever widening gap between rich and poor (middle class becoming obsolete)...

or
b) Global changes/earthquakes/a bloody comet hitting the planet

or
c) Increasing loss of privacy (does it freak anyone out about the chips they want farmers to put into their animals - even if it's just a few chickens?!!)

- The main thing I'm doing is trying to get totally out of debt (except for student loans - which I don't know if I'll pay off in this lifetime). It seems that if debt weren't there, I'd have more freedom to pick up and move where ever - and THEN max my credit cards out! There are a lot of things I'd *like* to do, but it's overwhelming. I live in California and I'm not even earthquake prepared!

What about you all?

Ya, i have a plan. I'm planning to be dead. Really!

a) Life after peak oil and major resource limitations that force an ever widening gap between rich and poor (middle class becoming obsolete)...

The middle class can be said to be obsolete for quite some time, and will be essentially gone very soon, especially with rising costs of living and fuel.

My plan for this is to stay on the upper end of the cycle as much as possible, while living a life trying to restore some sort of balance, try and treat the earth well, and enjoy my time here without f$cking things up too much.

b) Global changes/earthquakes/a bloody comet hitting the planet

I do have escape plans from the city, as well as lots of underground places to possibly hide out, UNLESS it is water, then we are kind of screwed in Montreal, as we are on an island. But I do have a largish hill/mountain near us.

c) Increasing loss of privacy (does it freak anyone out about the chips they want farmers to put into their animals - even if it's just a few chickens?!!)

I don't know where you live, but in Canada and the US there are TV commercials all the time for embedding RFID chips in your pets. I have said it before, I will say it again, it will be prisoners and mentally ill and elderly first to be forced to take it. This is only years away if circumstances prevail (if that, there are projects in many states to do this right now).

There has been some discussion of this, and I am of the mind that it will never work on a large scale, it will prove unworkable before it ever gets implemented totally. They will find a better way, and really the chip adds not that much over bioinformatics and video computer aided surveillance.

I plan to know the technology, and know all the underground methods of subverting it, and even employing it against the system.

One thing I did do was get rid of all debt a few years ago. I buy everything with cash, I don't even use debit card. I do not own a credit card.

I'm not a survivalist, but I do alot of camping, and would be absolutely fine having to wait out a week of darkness with what is in the house, and our freeze dried stuff.

I also got a good solar panel and a big power pack battery to power stuff. It is portable though.

Project - WOW. Right now I'd be one of those people in that episode of The Twilight Zone, banging on your bomb shelter, whining to be let in!! :scared:

My partner is studying photovoltaics (just bought a pretty detailed book about it) and also trying to get free of all debt. While the next step would be to live in a community that would actually band together and help one another, for now I need to get on the stick and prepare at least for earthquakes - and develop a plan in case my family is separated and need to find each other....

You have underground places to hide? Do you mean places you actually built or that are part of the natural landscape? I can't imagine not using my debit card - what's the rationale for using cash only?

I find it easier to track my personal finances using cash... the money in the bank is for the occasional recurring bill I have, or personal cheques. If I don't have the money on hand, I can't buy whatever I want. It has not been a problem thus far. One reason is bank charges drive me insane, so I keep them to a minimum.

Underground stuff, we live in a city with I think now about 30 kms of underground city, because we have such harsh winters. I have also scouted out some nearby industrial lots and abandoned lots and found more than one cave type place that may be suitable. I am also very close to a subway station (2 blocks or so) that may be suitable for some sort of bomb shelter (comet shelter?).

It is more just being aware of these things... I also know of a few serious survivalist groups around my area, who have real huge bumb bases built, with population reconstruction plans (they have I think a half million newspapers printed, with simple survival techniques, and community rebuilding stuff, to be handed out after the big one). There are undoubtably groups like this near you, they just keep on the low down if you pardon the pun.

Solar equipment finally became consumer-ready a few years back. Any camping store should be able to set you up with enough to power your cell phone for under $50. This may just save your ass, assuming cell phones still work, but it did get some trapped people in NO rescued (cells I mean).

You also need plenty of seeds not the hybrids they are making that won't produce viable seeds for the nexy year. Plans are under way to do just that too............................................... ........

On May 23, 2003, President Bush proposed an Initiative to End Hunger in Africa [1] using genetically modified (GM) foods. He also blamed Europe’s “unfounded, unscientific fears” of these foods for thwarting recovery efforts. Bush was convinced that GM foods held the key to greater yields, expanded U.S. exports, and a better world. His rhetoric was not new. It had been passed down from president to president, and delivered to the American people through regular news reports and industry advertisements.
The message was part of a master plan that had been crafted by corporations determined to control the world’s food supply. This was made clear at a biotech industry conference in January 1999, where a representative from Arthur Anderson Consulting Group explained how his company had helped Monsanto create that plan. First, they asked Monsanto what their ideal future looked like in fifteen to twenty years. Monsanto executives described a world with 100 percent of all commercial seeds genetically modified and patented. Anderson Consulting then worked backwards from that goal, and developed the strategy and tactics to achieve it. They presented Monsanto with the steps and procedures needed to obtain a place of industry dominance in a world in which natural seeds were virtually extinct.

I so envy you. After many ups and downs, we are finally ABLE to get our act together - the key is consistency: chipping away a little at a time consistently.

Switch to a no frills bank - no charges.

Same thing happened during the ice storm - no cell phones - they're great when they work, but that whole technology is so tenuous - we hang there by a thread because we have allowed technology to take over our lives.

We live in the country but were lucky during the ice storm to have lost power only for a couple of hours. Our neighbours came over for showers, etc. However, if we had lost power for any length of time, there would have gone the water too. I'm thinking that the best investment for us would be to attach a hand pump to the system in the basement. We can't even flush the toilets when the power is out. Got to start thinking about these things...

I hang my head in shame that anyone in my country would seriously consider this technology... :worried: :disgust:

Yup, but they can still track ya :)

Can you get your hands on one of them?

Hmm, I prolly could, but that would mean offering to be a contact point for them, and honestly, they are a bit wacky, so I am watching and waiting...

Absolutely right, I have a CB radio also waiting to be used (no license, but that won't matter much if I am forced to use it). Cell phones may save your life, like in NO as I said. I can also power my internet connection, and set up a roving WIFI access point that would cover a large area if needed. This can be used for communication since you can send VOIP over it... So, we roll this out to an open area, power up the solar panels, and voila! Instant network... this network can also 'mesh' with other people who do that same, and can pretty quickly cover a huge area, decentralized, and very hard to shut down completely.

Without viable seed, even Joe farmer will have to come into town and be greeted by the local NWO goons and chip him, give him his orders/assignments etc.

But really, he will already be a part of the Machine..the good ole property tax will force him to join or forfeit his land. No way to win but go into hiding!

Or leave the country. Except this kind of thing might give you pause: I saw part of a show last night as I was flipping thru the void... a tropical fly in Costa Rica had laid an egg in this tourist's scalp. When the woman got back home, that section of her head just got bigger and bigger - when she finally went in to get it checked, the doctor told her that the baby fly had grown into a nice, plump maggot. She applied good old vasoline and within a few days the maggot worked its way to the surface for air. They even showed the little bugger being pulled out.

I really don't know what's worse... suffering Big Brother and the castration of my personal freedom, or having a MAGGOT grow inside my scalp.

The options for survival have just become a lot slimmer.

yes but here for instance you could die of exposure within say 20 minutes if you go out without proper protection... and there are plenty of stingy nasty guys that live in the US as well...

How about breaking a leg on a patch of ice? Happens all the time :)

Everywhere has their problems, to be sure...

But see, an RFID chip WON'T come burrowing to the surface if you put vaseline on it :)

Not necessarily... surgical removal will be difficult to impossible.. the thing to do will be to remotely disable the chips, or to reprogram them to have someone else's identity...

I would set mine to say I am... hmm Colin Powell? Regis Philbin? Jebus? Wayne Gretzky? Alotta Fagina?

My apologies for not reading the whole thread. I will read after this post. After listening to Art Bell's interview with Matt Savinar(you can listen to the whole interview at my homepage)I've been preparing for the beginning of the end of oil. I bought a brand new bow and I'm stocking up on arrows. I bought a good quality mountain bike for off road travel. I have a few months supply of water purification tablets and several knives. I even have a cover for my tent that reflects heat back into my tent so I'm not easily detected by inferred camera's while out in the bush. A little paranoid yes but I'm sorry to say I have little faith in our leaders to care for us. I'm preparing to care for myself.

Can you tell me the date Matt Savinar did the interview with Art? I've only heard him with Ian... and Ian didn't seem to believe him about peak oil, etc. I was surprised, but Ian has his opinions and sometimes they aren't very flexible.

First off I don't buy into Peak Oil because I know its being spun to drive up the profits of war.

I'm more concerned about the USA shipping weapons thru Scottland to Israel

I know. Noory, especially, seems to believe in the abiotic/ self-renewing oil theory... and doesn't give any air time to contrary theories (that I have seen so far). More and more wars, aka bringing democracy to the unwashed masses (as if), are going to be about oil and who controls it, so even if you *don't* believe in peak oil, you damn well better start preparing for life without it, unless you're rich.
