I found the link for this at the www.geocaching.com forums and all of the geocachers there were raving about it.
Watch this demo video (http://www.appleshield.com/movie/demo/blaze_demo_lg.mov)
They show an iPod in the demo but they sell shields (specific to whatever brand and model number you own) for GPS devices, digital cameras, gaming systems, PDA's, cell phones, etc. that will make the screen on your device invulnerable to scratches.
It is made from a film originally created by the military to protect the leading edges of helicopter blades from wear and tear while traveling hundreds of miles per hour.
The cool thing is that it comes with a lifetime guarantee.

hmm how is it different from all the other screen protectors? I have used lots of different ones, and they are all the same - no matter if the price is doubled or halved... They are just sheets of plastic, the real issue is getting them in right size.
I used to use mactac (I think it was called) to cover my textbooks.. basically this is what screen protectors are.

I don't know Project, never used any other ones before. I don't know how common it is for the sheets to be made specifically for the device you are using like these are. Maybe they are, I don't know.
How was the scratch protection of the sheets you used? In the video they show the guy scratching the hell out of the screen on the iPod with keys and it doesn't do any damage. I think the best selling point is the lifetime warranty. If they wear out or peel off then they will continue to send you a replacement free of charge for life.
The cool thing about sheets they sell for the iPod is that the will protect/cover the stainless steel part of the iPod from scratches as well.
I just wish they would make the protection sheets factory standard for the devices.

You basically always buy fitted screen protectors.. I use them on my archos media player and my ipaq PDA. They all protect against all scratches, they are just a medium thick plastic layer over the screen... I guess you could take a key to it... but my PDA is a touch screen, so I am constantly scratching on it. You need to change the usual ones every year or so because they get grimey, but you usually get 5 for $20 anyways.
Covering the body is cool as long as there are no edges of the plastic that are not recessed, because if they can catch on something, they will...
Maybe it is very different from other ones, I can't be bothered to look deeply into their science ;)

Most people are very careful not to scratch their very expensive electronics. Personally I'd like a piece to cover the cover plate of my Clarion MP3/CD player in my car. I hate scratches on anything I need to see through. If it's not too expensive I'd give it a try.
