From the day of installation if I click too fast on the channel changer
I lose the audio feed off my satellite dish having to reset the main tv
menu to reflect CMP2 ... when that doesn't work I have to turn off
both the tv and the damn box wait 12 hours and it magically resets
it self.
I'm not sure why this only happens inside my house but I'm really getting fed up with it.

I'm just having one of those Dannion Brinkley days with all my electronics
back firing on me ... all the way to my wi-fi connections and DVD.
How I hate this
Topper, are you renting your equipment or did you buy it? If you rent, call them up and ask for a replacement box (I can't think of the correct term for it right now) Call 1-800 333-DISH. You shouldn't have to hang on hold for more than 45 or 50 min. :mad1: I've had a dish for about 10 yrs. now (a couple of them with upgrades, etc.) and I never had any problem like you have.:RotCol:

Hey Topper, my Directv is the same way, the living room pixels out, but the bedroom tv works perfect! I called them got the run around, misdirected for over 45 minutes. I finally hung up cussing like a sailor and saying, "goddamnit, why cant I get a real person on the fricking phone any more"? I hate this autmated shit and then some dumbass misdirects your call after a 30 minute wait!:cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

My question to you is do you have a setting on your satellite menu for Magic>
If not there's no recourse thru customer service for me. I've come to accept
it as my alphbet soup agencie playing mind games.

That's ok, I have a life time of odd and strange coincidences. Just a few minutes ago when I logged off to brew a pot of coffee my desktop computer popped up a message that it couldn't post or find my lan connections.
Hmmm don't have any idea why that happened or if it was due to my french nails and tongue lashing.

Toppy, I can't find anything on any of the menus or remote that has the word "magic". If your set turns itself off, you might try this:
Press "Menu" on the remote. You will get a screen with lots of options. Choose (No. 6) "System Set Up". From that new menu, press (1) "Installation". From there, press (2) "Inactivity Power Off" and then make sure that lovely feature is disabled. Hope this helps. It is worth a try, anyhow. :scratchch

I might need to try that ... today all my incoming phone calls are now visible on my HDETV screen when watching sci-fi. No I haven't messed with my set up
as I kinda like this new feature.
If I do as suggested will it change my ablity to read my incoming calls on the screen?
I don't think so. There are also a number of options regarding the telephone. I don't know anything about phone hookups. I've never hooked up a phone to mine. I lived in my motorhome for 7 yrs. and didn't have a landline--and so I never got used to it. I don't order any PPV stuff, anyhow.
It is just "enable" or "disable" check mark options. If you don't like it, reverse it.
Good luck!

Per my college whiz kid wi-fi provider he told me that I got some new software upgrade on my dishnet work DUH .... and he hadn't flipped any magic
switch to enable my laptop connection. He's still scratching his head
over it being disabled for nearly 2 days.
I have a hunch most of his college buddies will be looking for a cause
Seems I'm the Austin Beta Grandma of software options
