If you have a Barnes&Noble, Borders or any large bookstore, check out the computer mags from the UK in the magazine rack. I have built up a nice library of full version software, albeit earlier versions, notheless full and registered. They often give away Acronis True Image and Paragon Drive Copy too. They recently started giving away the full version of NetObjects Fusion 8, which is a nice web designer. The have great 'zines for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X, and you'll surely find free stuff

Unfortunately those mags cost 20$+ here, so it is often better to just download the software you like... However, the DVD in a mag may be a good route to introduce people to new software. Also, if you don't have broadband, you may prefer this route.

True, I forgot to mention the price, it ranges from $10 to $20 at most for the mags, but they are cool mags, I found some great software like the full version Netobjects Fusion 8, which normally sells for $139, and none of it's watered down, it's the whole ancholada. It's not like Dreamweaver and Frontpage, but is still a very powerful website builder. One other free one I found for database management was Navicat and that's not a cheap software, so I was happy they gave that away once.
