Springer, the little female killer whale who was found starving, sick and injured from boat propellers in Puget Sound off Seattle, was relocated back to her family in Johnston Strait off the tip of Northern Vancouver Island. This was a huge operation and the Discovery Channel filmed the entire thing. You may have had the pleasure of seeing it.

All of the marine scientists sailed out to sea this past weekend to celebrate the 5th year anniversary of Springer's return. She does not live here through the winter months and was late returning this year. As luck would have it, she returned the very day of her anniversary and the Scientists were overwhelmed. She didn't stay long, as this morning she was spotted miles away, west of Port Hardy. The chances of them spotting her and her family as they were passing by, is phenomenal to say the least.

Myself and Grandson were there 5 years ago to see them bring Springer home. It is one of my fondest memories. I still tear up when I see her on the news.
