Suddenly I'm not able to get any sound when playing any You Tube Videos...was working fine before.

I've found and tried this:

How To Fix:

All you need to do is to open registry editor by going to Start menu, Run, typing regedit and then Enter. After that, in the registry editor, walk yourself through the tree in the left pane, till you reach

My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Win dows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32

And then on the right pane, right click and click on New, select String value, enter "wavemapper" (without quots of course), right click > MODIFY> ENTER "msacm32.drv" in Value Data, ENTER.

Close the editor. No need to restart. Video on Google and YouTube et al would work fine now.

Thanks to the member who pointed out the key. I just mentioned the procedure.

this worked for me. so incase anyone else has a problem in the future, this is how to fix this bug.

Didn't help.

Any ideas what's wrong? I haven't changed anything to my knowledge and other video including google works fine.

I'm running XP ....any help would be appreciated.

O.K....I fixed it by updating the Adobe Micromedia Flash player.

I'll leave this up here just in case anyone is having similar problems and this or the solution above doesn't work.

I would not do what it says in your post above... unless you futzed with your registry before the problem started, you will not be fixing much, and you risk serious damage to your system.

Most of the time, what the resolution was for Alpha is the best thing to do.. even if there were no update, downloading and installing over current version often fixes probs like this, or uninstalling then reinstalling.

You should be fine, just consider messing with the registry an extreme fix, and try less possibly destructive avenues first like reinstalling (reinstalling fixes registry entries as well).

The registry is a bad idea in windows, and it has led to soooo many problems it is amazing. Your registry is like your memory... directly changing it may not lead to immediate problems, but when you need to recall that fact, and it is different from what really happened, this could lead to a sticky situation :)
