I am just starting it, but somehow, this guy mixes my favourite authors (the Beats) in with my favourite horror (H.P. Lovecraft). It sounds great!

I'm not sure how I missed this when it came out, it seems to have been written specifically for me In fact, I have thought of writing something similar...

Well, yes But I guess you could say that about most things...

This is a(n) (acknowledged) genre unto itself, metafiction, and you could classify it even further should you be into that P.H. Farmer is one of my favorite metafictionalists (I think I just made that word up hehe).

It's metafiction? Oh...eh....I don't like metafiction....are you sure about that? Putting "real" characters into a fictional setting doesn't have to be metafictional, even a far-out fictional setting....I associate metafiction with a kind of self-conscious and -reflective theoretical approach.

The lovecraft mythos is a contagious energy, a life form, it is capable of carrying on it's own life in the minds and work of others. Such is the genius of Lovecraft, he didn't just give us a fish, by reading him, he taught us all how to fish. Granted the fish are perverse and may just as likely eat you as you they, but hey, it beats the hell out of the breaded fish sticks most authors bandy about as sustainance.

Why,,,,everlong by foo fighters just started playing on the radio. And how is that synchronicity? Because the everlong video is a tribute to the Evil Dead movies. The Evil Dead movies are predicated on the fictitious book "The Necronomicon" which is the grand daddy of the fish that will eat you from the Lovecraft mythos.

    Too Cool.

Ever read "The Illuminatis Trilogy" by Robert Anton Wilson???
It's good. I wouldn't say great, but solid.
Cthulu shows up in it, Lovecraft has a conversation with some one and they ask him why he keeps telling the truth in his novels?????? Doesn't he know that will get him killed?????

    Good Luck
I look forward to reading your story.
