The answer to that may have something to do with claims that Barack Hussein Obama was adopted by his stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, changed his name to Barry Soetoro, and became an Indonesian citizen; that Barry Soetoro was an Indonesian citizen when his father enrolled him in the Catholic Fransiskus Assisi School in Jakarta, Indonesia. The document lists Lolo Soetoro as Obama’s father (not stepfather), and lists his citizenship as Indonesian (not American, not Kenyan).

Chicago is Mr. Obama's hometown. His transition team is operating out of the Kluczynski Federal Building in downtown Chicago. He is known to be a regular reader of the Tribune, Chicago's principal newspaper, with a daily circulation of over a half-million readers.
The Open Letter to Mr. Obama is a formal Petition for a Redress (Remedy) for the alleged violation of the "natural born citizen" clause of the Constitution of the United States of America. Mr. Obama is respectfully requested to direct the Hawaiian officials to provide access to his original birth certificate on December 5-7 by our team of forensic scientists, and to provide additional documentary evidence establishing his citizenship status prior to our Washington, D.C. press conference on December 8.

Some Americans are confused about this as well – about ten percent in a March poll believed Obama is Muslim. Obama's middle name is Hussein, which is a common Arabic name. He also lived in Indonesia, a country with a large Muslim population. But Obama is actually a practicing Christian. However, he does have Muslim roots – Obama has described his father from Kenya as "a non-practicing Muslim."

Four Tennessee legislators want Obama to prove citizenship
Several Tennessee lawmakers have signed on to a legal action intended to force President Barack Obama to turn over his birth certificate and other documents to prove his citizenship, an effort rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court in an earlier case.
Tennessee Reps. Eric Swafford, Stacey Campfield, Glen Casada and Frank Niceley have all agreed to be plaintiffs in a planned legal action by a Russian immigrant in California who has challenged whether Obama meets constitutional criteria to be president.
The lawsuit from the Defend Our Freedoms Foundation, which has not been filed, will be among several court challenges to Obama's citizenship.
One of the cases reached the U.S. Supreme Court late last year, and the court declined without comment to take it up, a move many interpreted as meaning the issue was dead.
The campaign posted a copy of his certificate on a page intended to counter rumors about Obama.
Swafford's letter states "I agree to be one of the plaintiff's in a legal action filed by Dr. Orly Taitz, Esquire for a Writ of Mandamus to obtain birth certificate, immigration records, passports and other vital records for Barry Soetoro, aka Barack Hussein Obama."
The letter from the Pikeville Republican is written on the letterhead of the House of Representatives.
Yes, it should matter. If Obama is not a natural born American citizen and retains the title of POTUS, a dangerous precedent would be set for future presidential candidates.

Yes, it should matter. The law is the law. We don't seem to obey laws in higher circles anymore though...
What would happen in the off-chance that the case went against him? Total chaos in the country I'm sure. If you added that mess to the economic situation, I wouldn't want to even go to town at that point!

Well, here's one way to look at it and something to think about. If BHO was removed from office, wouldn't we then get Mr. Biden? If anything happened to him (born in 1942), would we then get to welcome Madame President Nancy Pelosi?

FYI, on my commute to work in Los Angeles everyday I pass this huge billboard on the side of the freeway that says "Where Is The Birth Certificate?" -- just thought you all might want to know the issue isnt dead here either. The length of time this question is allowed to sit out there without an answer is staggering.
Honestly, although I can't watch the vid, I have serious doubts about Obama's legitimacy due to the fact that he refuses to provide the birth certificate. This problem could be resolved easily through...transperancy.
If Obama is found to be foreign born and consequently ineligable to be the POTUS, it would tear this country apart. Combine every race riot America has ever experienced and the end sum would not even begin to approach the inferno that would burn our cities to the ground.
