IW Predictions for 2009

30. People will gradually wake up to the danger from the sun. They will learn that it's unhealthy to stay in it too long.

31. Special sun glasses will be made, to prevent 'sun blindness' when driving.

32. Mick Jagger will win the Boston Marathon...Keith Richards will come in second, only because he has to carry his guitar.

33. George Noory will be arrested when he returns to St. Louis for having margarine in his fridge. (well, it still is illegal there, and I think he should be investigated, ha, I'm sure he doesn't eat real butter, that's made from what he calls cow puss if memory serves me correctly. Does he not realize milk is in many food products too?)

Things I've seen:
34. There will be a scandal with Obama's secretary.
35. Michelle Obama will be at odds with one of Obama's secretarys. (Of what I dunno) There will be friction b/t her and a cabinet member.
36. There will be some sort of fire concerning the white house. A bunch of papers will catch on fire.

Those are just dream things I've seen. I don't know if they will be the next year really or if they are just 'dream things.' May or may not be anything to them. I don't have a lot of insight concerning this next year.

Predictions from things I think:
37.The controversy with PETA and animal rights will really heat up. There will be some incidents of fanactism coming from the animal rights camp.

38. There will be increased incidents of police brutality, but they will be met more often with outrage from the local communities.

39. There will be a LOT of electrical storms this year in the summer and a lot more sightings of the thunderbirds. The earth will continue to try to cleanse herself of the pollution we've caused.

40. Heirloom seed businesses will boom.
A small subset of the population that WILL INCREASE will start planting more and more edible lawns. It will become trendy among those that now buy a lot of organic foods.
41. More states will move to decriminalize pot, as other states go in the opposite direction and try to get tougher on their drug laws.
42. Mexico will become increasingly lawless, and the crime there will start to be of major concern to us in the US. This and other things will see even less Americans traveling abroad.
43. The bureau of Indian Affairs will be involved in a very big scandal that makes the Illinois governor look like a choir boy.

They've been moving a lot of something in the trains lately. Looks like with the price of gas so low, it is just strange that the trains just started running like wildfire every night, after 11 until 5am.

Wow, for someone with no insight for the year, I sure did throw a lot of predictions out.

My husband has one, he isn't a member but I'll post it - I think it is a given but I think it will be significant past what people expect.:

44. Americans will continue to invest in shotguns and canned foods. (HUGE increase in gun sales and food stockpiling.(Hadriana's DH's prediction)

People are already stockpiling long shelf life freeze dried food and cooking items. I had been stockpiling for a while, and when I called around to order more this last week, I've been discovering shortages and backorders developing at some sources (i.e. Oregon Freeze Dried is backordered through the end of 2009). People are stocking up on a years worth of food. I have almost a years worth of food for one stored away now.

lol I know. I thought it was funny - that was his prediction and he's been doing it for over a year now. We've certainly done our part to keep the gun shop open.

Seriously, stockpile enough food to last at least a few months (half a year would be better). I don't want to be sitting on a pile of food and have to look at starving people that didn't prepare (not that starving adults bother me much, grown-ups can fend for themselves), but starving children make me want to bonk their parents. When the shit hits the fan, I'm not going to screw up my preparedness by sharing with those that didn't give a damn enough to prepare. And guns, one can not have enough guns and weapons when living on Earth among these humons.
