I just heard that some sources are saying he's dead. I agree though with you Div....I feel that may be exactly it.

Great talent in his time, although never even close to any of my fav's...along with great strangeness.....

His music was okay, my kids liked the stuff when they were young, and I had to take them to his concert in the Twin Cities back in the 80's when he came to town (and I went deaf for 3 days afterwards, his concets were LOUD, really loud, and we were in the second row!). He went wacko with his fame, which is a tragedy, but that can be blamed on all them weirdo groupies that act like celebrities are gods or somethings and go gaga over them. Can you imagine never being able to go anywhere in public without all those freakos running up to you just so they can touch and drool over you? I don't think I could stand that, I think I'd have to open fire on my fans if they started acting like that (celebrity loving freaks are weirder than MJ ever was). And that whole kiddy sex thing, I never knew what to make of that for sure, because you know what some humons will say and do for $$$ .... ANYTHING! He probably wore his body out on all those hard drugs and trying to maintain that high and almighty hoity toity life style.

I feel very sorry for the children... Michael hasn't looked healthy for quite a few years. His weird diet may have taken a toll on his health and weakened his heart. The poor soul was a prisoner in his own body, and didn't live in the same 'world' as the rest of the people. May he now rest in peace.

I agree with you Judee. May he find peace now where he couldn't during his life.

I remember when "Off The Wall" came out. He was phenomenal. Like the Beatles in 1964, here was the entertainer for the new MTV age. And he was a beautiful young man; he never needed plastic surgery in the first place.
I worry about those children. They've been growing up in Michael's weird world.
    Sad news, but not unexpected.

My first thought too, Judee, was for his children. Do they even have "mothers" other than in the biological sense? He is from a large family, so I feel hopeful that some of them will care for his kids.

BTW, I like your av, Judee. It is a Red Hat Society cartoon. Do you belong to the Red Hats?

To be honest, I am from the wrong generation to have ever cared much for MJ. I did make a cassette of "Thriller" a long time ago because I thought it was terrific. I can't really remember anything else much that he did; only the sensational stuff in the news. I thought he was very handsome then--a cutie heart throb for the girls. Never understood why he wanted to ruin his looks.

I didn't expect to find it now, but here is Michael Jackson's "Thriller", still on YouTube:

It is 13 min. 41. sec. long

I'm sure his 'family' will be fighting over who gets to keep the kids, as there will be a lot of money involved...

No, I don't officially belong to the Red Hat Society Dera, but I do 'in spirit'!

A very weird day when both Jackson and Farrah Fawcett die at the same time.

The end of an era, for sure. Jackson made some great music and fun grooves, but he was not the Messiah he thought he was. His contribution ended with Thriller. 50 is pretty young to die. Who knows what happened. I never know when I hear of these deaths. Everything is top secret. I don't even know what happened to Duhwan. Let me light a candle for Duhwan. I am always in the dark.

Rumor has it that Michael Jackson collapsed shortly after taking an injection of potent Demerol (which has serious interactions that can be dangerous with MAOIs).
