Which points out that while they're lovely sometimes, who reimburses the farmer for lost crops? And if artistic humans are the suspects, they need to set up some cameras around the fields. These seem too intricate for a bunch of people stomping the stalks....but some kind of high flying pulse weapon? I think we have more orbiting space stations up there than the ISS; perhaps they get bored?

Who's they? You are not proposing space aliens are making these are you? It's easy to do. First you helicopter in a dozen or two university math students to lay out the design. Set up a couple of trailers so they have a place to nap, use the washroom and eat. Then you set up your lighting system so accurate measurements can be made. Now you just bend over the crop at differing heights and with out breaking the stocks. And all within a short late summer night before farmer John gets up for chores. No problem.

I also agree blackeyes. If these things were being made by people, videos of them doing it would be all over the internet by now. People love publicity don't they?

I've seen those TV programs where they demonstrate how people could make them, and it would take too long or they'd get discovered.

Ever see those fancy gift boxes with designs etched by lasers? That's what they resemble. Picture Tech Sgt. John Jones up in a big black stealthy aircraft, bored to tears with defending Democracy. So he swoops around looking for open fields to play Spirograph, not getting in trouble because then the govt. would have to decloak some black ops mission.

Or even compensate the farmer for the loss. Easier to blame the Space Brothers!

But if it is THEM. why don't they just cut in on the TV and say what they're trying to say? Why so mysterious?

The farmer taking shots at the tourists is a little over board but knowing that they are trespassing on private property is just not right. If they were on an American's field they might be full of bullets by now.

These formations are a mystery and need to be studied but only with the property owners permission. The people walking around in his field should be charged with trespassing.

There is a solution to this though. The farmer charges people to walk to the formations. In that way he recupes some money from the damage tourists cause walking through the field. You may even reap a tidy profit it you restrict them to a single path straight into the area. The field is already damaged by the formation so walking in them won't cause anymore damage to the crop.

Why would anyone take a chance of getting caught damaging a field and trespassing on private property? The larger formations are not made by man in my opinion.

Lol, no they are not. There are a couple of business that make crop circles for profit. They've been doing it for years, and making a pretty good living at it. Ya'll aren't thinking them things are made by ETs are ya (lol).
