The first thing we need to do is realize that just because the culture and acts they perform in their society are not understood, does not necessarily make them bad.
I'm sure there are other cultures that look at us with a disrespectful eye, because we do something that is offensive in their culture.
Our issue is if we condemn their beliefs on our merit, or try to understand why they do things the way they do. There are usually deep seeded reasons why cultures do things that are foreign to us.
As grandma V would say, "Be careful when you have your eyes open, mind without judgment, and ask the questions. You might just learn something valuable."
As a side note, I always find it interesting how a forum like ours can accept ghosts, spirits, aliens, and conspiracies because someone said it on the radio or wrote it on a web page or post. Yet we have such a hard time of accepting the practices of other cultures and nations. It's like reading a book, believing only 50% of the chapters while disputing the other 50%.
