Curses?

Hi, this stems from a TO topic last night. The guest was talking about curses and several people here said they did not think curses could happen, save in the mind of the affected person.

I am really curious, do those of you that believe this also think the same thing of healing and other positive energies/ magick/ prayers/ etc. sent to someone? Do you think the person has to know for that to work?

(I listened while playing warcraft last night. And since the TO is from an old night, I thought I would ask my question here.)

Well I am just an old witch, and I believe everything and everyone are connected, like the MOST complext string art you've ever seen. Each string has a force around it, like a forcefield, if you will. And I think flitting in and out around each string are spirits. Spirits of those that are still tied down to the work of art are sometimes flitting around, if they can in accordance with their own will, if they aren't so bound. Spirits that have been unbound are there too.



And I think that some forces that have no string, that are free to move, and some that have strings, that are able to control their force, can pick at, and wear down and tangle other strings, maybe even unhinge them. Of course if that target feels guilty or otherwise weakens it's own force, yeah, it's going to be more evident that there's some bad juju working on them.

I think healing works the same way. In self healing, one asks the spirits or disembodied forces, if you will, to watch over them, while they go within and try to seach their own string for signs of weakness, and, if needed, reinforce them.

I'm trying to explain something, that perhaps is sublime. Yeah, I think we're all like string art that makes itself on a matrix that provides itself because it likes art.

You raise some good point Hadriana, but I don't believe in 'curses'... Many years ago, I might have. At this point in life, I believe that we each make our own heaven or hell, and if we believe that we are cursed, we will be. If someone has the ability to make another believe they are cursed, they will be. The string theory of quantum physics is mind altering, and explains so much. But when one's mind becomes strong enough to branch out and detach itself from even that, we are free...

You raise some good point Hadriana, but I don't believe in 'curses'... Many years ago, I might have. At this point in life, I believe that we each make our own heaven or hell, and if we believe that we are cursed, we will be. If someone has the ability to make another believe they are cursed, they will be. The string theory of quantum physics is mind altering, and explains so much. Only if that person believes that their body/spirit can be healed by means other than the quack medical industry -- ie: by spiritual belief. Then yes, I would believe that they can be healed through such means. Now, if someone believes that they can be healed by the quack medical industry, then they can also be healed by such -- to a point. Our minds are powerful instruments... It's all about 'belief'. JMO.

The common example used by the pagans I know is think of fire. Fire can be used to cook your food and keep you warm or to burn your house down.

So, I was reallly curious if others in that conversation thought you could do good, but not curse. If they thought it was a different thing.

You seem to be consistent in believing no matter what it is used for, it stems from the person. So, my other questions don't apply.

I will say that sending 'positive energy' to someone can help, especially when it is done by more than one person. But again, IMO, the people sending the energy have to 'believe'. Don't know if that makes sense. I have an aversion to 'curses' however, and refuse to believe in them, but that is just me.

I've seen what I consider to be the effects of a curse on someone that didn't believe.

I do believe that one can be aware though, and protect themselves and deflect the negative energies.
