    Best Oven BBQ Beef

I thought I had put this up a few years ago, however I can't find it so I'll put it up again.

This is one of my favorite indoor beef recipes.....get some great crusty bread and nice salad and I'll think you'll really enjoy it, plus it makes the house smell incredible while it's cooking.

IG....I think you and Biker will really like this one and YES, it's really 4 cups of celery however it just about dissolves so you'll never know it's in there, however it adds an incredible flavor and texture.

    Best Oven BBQ Roast Beef

    4 lb. roast
    1 cup ketchup
    1 cup barbecue sauce
    4 cups chopped celery
    2 cups water
    1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped fresh red and green pepper
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    2 Tbsp brown sugar
    3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 tsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
    1 tsp. salt

    Combine all ingredients.

    Pour over beef.

Cover and bake at 350 degrees F. for 5 hours. Turn beef occasionally.

Shred beef with fork and serve on buns.
It's also good with a baked potato, no bun or rice or whatever you like as a side.

That's a keeper, Alpha. I've copied it for the not too distant future. Mine will go on French Bread. Thank you.

Miss Alpha, that sounds down right tasty. I'll be giving that one a shot.

I hope you all like the recipe....it's one of our fav's around here and so, so easy!!

Biker, I'm making it right now, except I am using a pork roast instead of beef....it works really well with either, pork or beef. This is one you can do and give Miss IG a day off in the kitchen!!!

The only thing different I do when using a pork roast, is that I season it a bit with a dry rub and then brown it before pouring the sauce over it and putting it in the oven.

I've had mine in the oven since about noon here...so about 1 1/2 hours and it smells heavenly in here already!! ...perfect for a cool rainy day. Chi and I are going to eat good tonight!!

I didn't mention it to you because I didn't want to take the chance of offending, but I planned on using pork. I much prefer it over beef.

Cooks should always take all kinds of creative liberties...don't worry about the offending part, but that's so sweet Sir Biker!! Yeah, I prefer pork too!! ....although I do the beef every once in a blue moon.

I've got another killer BBQ Pork Oven recipe....kinda Elvis Style. I'll find it and put it up in a separate thread
