No, it's not the real-life fields of leading-edge research into UFOs and extraterrestrial visitation, quantum physics discoveries, human consciousness or possible paradigm shifts for humanity – we're talking about the new NBC TV series "The Event."

When "The Event" begins on Monday, Sept. 20, viewers will be in for a wild ride of conspiracy and very strange happenings.

Although the cast and crew are maintaining tight security on the show's secrets, some rumors indicate that the it might portray the issue of U.S. government officials dealing with the visitation to Earth of human-looking extraterrestrials and/or beings from another dimension.

Are they human or related to Earth humans? We don't know – yet.

And, we don't know how close this TV series reflects real developments, as far-fetched as that may seem.

Are there strange space-time anomalies involved or other aspects of forward-leaning "edge science" and "weird physics?" .................

MYSTERIOUS GROUP

Whoever the mysterious beings are, more than 90 of them have been held at a secret U.S. facility in Alaska called Mount Inostranka and the U.S. president learns about it.

Blair Underwood plays President Elias Martinez, who has a Cuban-American ethnic background. The president apparently wants to go public with this information after visiting the Alaska facility.

However, elements of the defense and intelligence community don't agree.

How will Americans and people internationally react and adjust to this news? How will this affect the human race and life on Earth?

But that development in itself might not be the complete "event." These visitors, or whoever they are, may know something else that is in store for the human race. .....

I'm Calling out Billy Ray Cyrus on UFO's

n opening I just want to make it clear I am not knocking or disrespecting Billy Ray Cyrus in any way. As a matter of fact I have respected his work as a musician and actor for a long time, as well as my son who most likely has seen every Hanna Montana shows ever made including the movie. This article has been created to clear up a few questions I have for Billy.

Reading the recent news headlines, I had to stop and have a double take. Yes, there it was... Billy Ray Cyrus and his son Trace are embarking on a reality TV series about UFO's and the Paranormal. They will be traveling around looking at various paranormal events and looking for some sort of explanation for them.

The first thing that popped into my head was that what background in paranormal investigation would the duo have to offer Ufology or the paranormal and do any justice without possibly making a mockery of the community? Thus far the only explanation I have found is that he wants to do something with his son and has an interest in this area.

Well I don't know about you, but just having an interest in this study doesn't quite cut it for me. There has been many people that have had shows on TV that hold a bag full of credentials to give their show some weight and valued insight. UFO Hunters for one is an example of people that have put their life blood for many years into Ufology.

When I heard Bryce Zabel of Dark Skies fame was doing this show I was interested enough to watch the extended trailer on YT but after watching it I figured it would hold the same esoteric relevance as V did... which was none.

Well it's too bad you didn't watch the entire first episode. They kept going back and forth in time: something happens, then "8 Days Ago"...then back to "current", then back to "8 Months Ago"...back and forth like that.. At first it was a little annoying, but as each little puzzle piece was added I became hooked. According to Wikipedia, the producers/Directors have an Outline and promise to let the audience know they are not "making things up as they go along". Supposedly some questions will be answered as soon as the Second Episode.
In this first Episode, The President had gotten hold of information about this Secret Facility in Alaska, where "They" (whoever "They" are) are being held. Information that the CIA had withheld from him and previous Presidents. When asked, "May I ask how you came into possession of this information?" The President said, "No you may not".
Part of my mind thinks that this TV Program is part of a Greater Plan that has been in effect for a couple of decades or more to acclimate people to the idea of Aliens having been here for decades. I'll watch a few more episodes before I decide if it's Food for Thought or Junk Food for the Mind.

You gave a good description of the first episode Mary. I didn't catch it on the tube, however I watched it on the net last night.

So far, it's hard to tell if there is any ET connection to the plot or not.

I'm with you on giving it a few more episodes......if I remember to watch.....you guys will have to remind me.

I hate to urinate on everyone's parade, but aliens always have been a TV staple. There was Outer Limits and Twilight Zone episodes. I remember that there was something called The Invaders on when I was a kid. I never saw it because it was past my bedtime Then there's "V" and The X-Files. I'm sure that I'm missing a whole bunch.

Aliens are red meat for ratings, and TV executives wanna cash in. I'm not saying that these facts don't disprove the theory presented. We just don't know.

I mean, when did we ever get "real news" from the teevee, even from TV shows?

The media has often been used for propaganda and as a conditioning tool, as well as a test bed....call it sociological and psychological testing and manipulation if you will. It also seems that this media hyas also depicted future events, before they have actually happened.

I didn't see anything about a movie about this though...maybe I missed something ... although they talk about another movie titled "The Knowing" which they say apparently predicted the gulf disaster, before it happened...I haven't seen it, so I don't know.

I have to wonder how this all ties in or if it does to Richard Dolan's new book: A.D. After Disclosure

I'm wondering how it ties in with disclosure, period! It used to be that we got "alien" type shows on the SyFy channel, but they also had SyFy names and outrageous story lines.

This show is in mainstream TV and is called "The Event" - a plain name which could be about anything, but it's about aliens having landed and being kept at a secret facility. Close to reality as possible, given that the President in that show is black too. I just hope it doesn't wimp out in the end with a ridiculous ending like "Lost".

In spite of official denials, I saw a disk heading into space and there is nothing anyone can claim that I saw, other than it was. I'm not the only one and it seems inconceivable that officialdom doesn't know about them. Given the denials, it will certainly be another shock (for me) when there is official confirmation. The rest of the world of disbelievers and skeptics will be stunned.... I can't wait for the day. But, all that said - I don't think that we are ready.
