Some women may see up tp 100 million colors thanks to their genetics and a fourth cone.

I have a friend who is an artist who told me about this ... she can see those colors.

my mother had this kind of vision...and even more incredible was her gift for exactly matching colors from memory...she could find things for decorating her home that would match even if she was a hundred miles away from something...it was uncanny...exact color matches...

Eye candy ~ color ~ colors ~ I'm a sucker for bright colors and shiny stuff like mirrors and chrome. I know I can perceive differences in minute variations of colors. I have no trouble seeing what I'm suppose to see in all those color blind cards. I can easily spot stuff in the forest that deviates from the natural background colors. Camouflaged stuff sticks out like a sore thumb. It's one of the reasons nobody likes playing paintball with me, seriously, they say the game ends too soon when I play.

My mother was a professional artist, and she apparently had that kind of vision also. I didn't realize what is was until reading this. Thanks sunshine!

I always thought that we each perceived the world in a slightly different way due to our physiological differences. It makes sense that you and I don't see/taste/smell things in exactly the same way . That may be why you like one thing and you prefer another - we might agree if we saw the same thing. Here's a little test to see (pun intended) how well you differentiate color hue. I got a 7 on it. My weakest points were in the blues. Funny, blue was my favorite color for as long as I can remember until a few years ago, so the first 40 years of my life. I don't know when or how it happened but I started noticing that I was picking out more and more greens and no blues whatsoever in my decor and wardrobe. I really don't like blue as a color much at all now. I wonder what caused the change? Maybe it was a slight eyesight change.

    Here's the test:
