When did you start listening to C2CAM?

I started listening to C2C shortly after Art came back in 2001. This all came about by accident as I had a very trying day that day and to relax I thought I would turn on my clock radio and listen to some oldies music before I fall asleep. Well it turns out the station I usually listen to just changed their format to all sports radio and I was not amused. I had been listening to this station(1050 chum in Toronto) since I was a kid and even went so far as to go to a record store to obtain their music chart of the top 40 songs every Sunday.

Disappointed and because I needed my oldies but goldies music fix. I proceded to fool around with the dial until I heard the song "Miracles" by Jefferson Starship" I love this song, as it turns out this was only Art's bumper music, next thing I know its Art's smooth, silky voice in the middle of the night asking the listeners to come for a ride and that was it I was hooked.

BTW, the all sports format didn't last long, they went back to their original format, but by then they have lost me as a listener because now I listen to George and Art!

Thumbs up The first time I listened to Coast...

    Lets see it was 10/18/96

Malachi Martin's first appearance, how could you not be hooked from then on?
I went on to record all seven of his appearances and lots of other classic shows as well. What a long strange trip it's been.
I'll never forget that first night hearing Art Bell and Malachi it is etched upon my soul and I will remember it forever. Agreed

I heard Art Bell the first time driving at night sometime around 1993 or 1994. At that time during the week it was always open lines with lots of regular callers like Charlie Liberal. I quickly discovered Art's Sunday weekend show "Dreamland" with Linda Moulton Howe plus a paranormal-type guest - I loved it.

There was a "local talk show" which mentioned Art Bell had been discussing a incoming comet which reportedly had a space ship orbiting it. (I don't recall the year) This sparked my interest - I had to find Art - I was hooked!

!996 according to Badboy as to when Ed Dames first showed up. I fell asleep with Reagan or somebody on and woke up with a weirdo talking ufos and he read a fax he recieved from a Major Ed Dames regarding something call remote viewing. It was really refreshing if you like talk radio. Everything else was politics.

I'm not sure when I first stumbled across Art Bell, it was either late 1999 or early 2000 when Art and Keith (his webmaster) would tear up the darkness five nights a week.

    How I found Art Bell...

I work alot of late nights and this one guy I had gotten to know was a real card and we had wild conversations about UFO's, The Occult, and Conspiracies. One night he mentioned this guy named Art Bell, I had never heard of him so he gave me Art's Web Site and out of curiosity I checked it out. I was instantly intrigued by the images and stories hosted there.

My first night off I managed to find a radio station online that provided streaming audio of Art's Show (Local stations don't carry C2C), I don't recall who the guest was but I was totally blown away by this Art Guy and I've been hooked ever since. That was over four years ago and I still tune into C2C every chance I can.

I've become a C2C junkie and there is no hope for me.

For those of you who didn't listen to Art in the early pre-website years it was very interesting. Art had a dial-in BBS system for forums and images. He later experimented with a dial-in modem video webcam system where one person could dial in for a minute or two and watch him moving before the video camera during the show and you could send/receive text messages during that time too. I got in once and sent him a message to show his finger (which he had mentioned he had just cut) up to the screen and he did it! In those days he had a fax machine that everyone would send faxes to during the show - I got some of my faxes read by Art a few times, this was the inspiration for the current "fast blast" idea.

I remember one night someone called in and asked Art what ever happened to Charlie Liberal and Art said he was hit and killed by a car. I don't know if he was joking or not but if he was he didn't say so. He probably would have known because he has Charlie's picture in his book The Art Of Talk, so he must have had some contact.

Art was really on the bleeding edge of streaming back in those days. I got involved just after Broadcast.com (later real audio) picked up his show. The live in-studio-cam was fun - while it lasted. I'm sure Art grew tired of the entire world voyering in on his every action...

I don't recall who was on the first night I listened. Might have been Davenport or Greer or Gersten, something with a UFO theme. Basically, I recall years ago listening to a Larry King show about UFO's, so I was looking for a show like that one night. Anyway, the show that made me a fan had Richard C. Hoagland as a guest. I've been a fan of the show ever since, though I didn't listen much when Siegel was the host.
