I always forget the year but my first was around the same week as the first Al Bielick show in the mid 90's. I remember taping the show to a videotape per Art's instructions when it was rerun on the weekend.
It was really cool hearing the excitement in Art's voice because Bielick really had his story down good and Art, try as he might, couldn't punch any holes in it. Art's enthusiasm really drew me into the show and I was hooked. I wish we could find something new to get him excited like that again!
I think I still might have that videotape somewhere too! I also seem to remember the guy from the Monroe Institute (Robert?) being on a few times back when I first started listening too.
Wow Grim Jim - that was a long time back! You have me beat, I didn't start listening until around 1994, I only heard that first Al Beilek show many years later when it was replayed.
After Larry King went off the air I was searching for something to listen to overnight and the first AB show I heard was people calling in and talking about their alien encounters. I started taping the show in 1994 on my crappy boombox.
I'm pretty sure I heard JLear's first show and Charlie Liberal for sure. This was before AB started streaming in RA on the website.
Yeah I started listening before Art had a website, he had a modem-based BBS at that time though.
LOL! The day I started back working 3rd shift again - after 3 years of laying bricks. I think that would be around July/August 1995.... Does that sound about right? Hmmmm.....
Whelp I found Coast I think a really wierd way. One day I was listening to another talk show, and on the show doing the morning news they mentioned something about a ufo. The host said we need to forward that story to Art Bell on Coast, i'm a curious sort went right home typed in Coast on a search and that night tuned in coast. Oddly enough that was George's first week, i was a happy camper i didn't only get to listen to George's sexy voice but Art's too..![]()

I remember surfing the net when Hale-Bop came around and the cult members that died. It was about that time or just before that Art was mentioned on certain newgroups. I did a search and the rest is history.
I used to love perusing the website run by Keith. When the show came on, there was always something new to see on the site and we all had to wait til Keith put it up - the site crashed so many times... Say what you will about Keith, it was a great site, the archives were excellent and everything was done with excitement at learning something new... everyone was caught up in the whirlwind.
Things have been changing little by little since Art's son had his problems. The show and the site are a shadow of what it once was.
The excitement is gone, the site is really not as welcoming and full of information as it used to be.... and we know what happened to the archives. Big business and greed took over. It's no longer the fun place it used to be because the excitement of the host sharing a new piece of knowledge is missing. Come to think of it, even Art has been sounding jaded lately.
I guess that life is change and we have to deal with it. I still listen when I can because I really don't have any bones to pick with George, he's fine by me.... and he does have interesting guests now and again... but the excitement of discovery and sharing is gone... maybe it's me because by now, I've heard it all before. As far as streamlink goes, it's too expensive and there are other shows with free listening archives that I can go to.
It was a golden time, way back when and we thought it would always last. Growing up (and getting older) is finding out that nothing does.

I started listening to Coast AM in 2003 for Various Reasons during The Twenty One Day Desert Conflict...
And - It was during that time that I found this Little Verse in The Book of Daniel of The Bible:
Daniel - Verse 10:13
What Day did I find The Verse?
The Twenty First Day of The Twenty One Day Conflict of The Desert
Also - Around that same time I heard George Noory talk about The Numbers 11:11 and 111...
My Zodiac Numerology is 11 - 11 and I am A Member of A Special Group associated with The Number 111
Just a Coincidence or What?

Ninj....why don't you start a thread on your philosophy and journey on any appropriate deck....seems you have a lot to say, however, this evasive posting in every thread on the board without any substance is wearing kinda thin......

As for My Post about When I started listening to Coast AM - All those things happened at the time I started listening to Coast to Coast AM and I thought The Post would be a little less boring than just putting The Following:

I'll never fprget. I was talking to Lil Ricky Stevens (Your still a young man...) Tower of Power , on a visit in the mid 90s and he suggested I listen to the Art Bell Show 560 AM for the SF area. He does faithfully every night. Thanks Rick and if this message gets back to ya, say hi to Matlock.![]()
