    Dump Cake

    Recipe Description
A medley of Duncan Hines Classic Yellow Cake, pineapple, sweet cherries, and crunchy pecan can be yours––simply 'dump' them in the pan and bake. This Dump Cake is easy, full of fruit and tastes delicious.

    Ingredients Baking Instructions

1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple with juice, undrained
1 can (21 ounces) Comstock® or Wilderness® Cherry Pie Filling
1 pkg Duncan Hines® Moist Deluxe® Classic Yellow Cake Mix
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease a 13x9-inch pan.
Dump pineapple with juice into pan. Spread evenly. Dump in pie filling. Sprinkle cake mix evenly over cherry layer. Sprinkle pecans over cake mix. Dot with butter.
Bake 50 minutes or until top is lightly browned. Serve warm or at room temperature.

...alternate method*..by making the cake mix and then pouring over the fruit, instead of just pouring out of the box.. Came out as pictured

Now that's my kind of cooking! Dump everything in a bowl and slam it into the oven. No mixing, no measuring, no sifting! I love it!

im thinking if you dump the cake mix dry on the fruity stuff..its going to end up a little dry like a tea cake, but if you mix the cake to a liquid its going to be fluffier...but heck with it all..im gonna dump mine in...

I love dump cake!!! It does turn out more like a cobbler than a cake but is easy, no fuss, no mess and good. Great at the last minute for potlucks. Try different types of cake mixes with diferent kinds of canned fruit. The general rule is one box of cake mix to two cans of fruit topping. I like two cans of apple pie filling with a spice cake mix. Some like cherry pie filling with chocolate cake mix. Experiment and enjoy.
Remember: you are unique, just like everybody else.
