My take is that those who wrote about these angels and demons just personified the concept by creating characters that illustrated the concept of good & evil, to help people understand. Also, it served another purpose...to have folks believe in these beings as a method of control. JMO.

Can good and evil manifest? Yes I believe it can, but not necessarily by winged creatures or ugly evil devil monsters.
