I have a lovely LDS lady insurance agent. She's a peach. I adore Brenda, but I just have to yank her gams at times - it's a thing a' mine, OK? Whilst poring over pages detailing what I'm covered for and what falls outside of the provisions of Farmers Insurance Inc. heretofore referred to as The Company, "ACTS OF GOD" were mentioned many times.
"Oh, you mean like revelations and visions and stuff! Like if the building burns down while God does that burning bush thing!", I smarmily said. She wanted to laugh. She supressed it handily.
"No. It means lightning, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, storms...."
"And plagues? Pestilence? Whaddabout locusts? I thought I saw some two houses down. And if some golden tablets crashed through my roof?" She lost it then. She howled in laughter.
A sense of humor is kinda rare in Mormon dames.

They're ALL acts of GOD.
Oh well.
I have been told by Christian folk many times throughout my years that God "blesses" His very best people by "challenging" them with multiple adversities - that God wouldn't lay trauma at your door if you weren't strong enough to take it.
WTF?
