I wonder. Does he get paid royalties when they broadcast it I wonder? If Art made a website with all those archives for $1.99 a show - he would be rich(er) in no time. Imagine them selling on itunes and amazon. I don't think he owns the rights, but who knows?

IIRC Art has said he's had offers to do another show, but he didn't want to go up against Coast...
So much as at the same time he also maybe wouldn't care for a full time schedule, might this be the first step towards clearing the way to do a weekend-only Saturday night show?
(Just trying to inject a note of optimism here, speculative as it may be!)

Thanks for the scoop....now wouldn't that be something if Art came back to the airwaves?
Part of me would love to see/hear that and the other part feels he may be better off leaving as the legend with the legacy he left behind....I'm not convinced his heart is in it anymore like it used to be in the early '90's,

My memory isn't what it used to be, but I'm at least 80% sure in the time that he's been away from C2C I've read comments from Art to the effect he'd been approached about doing a show that would go up against Coast, but he didn't want to compete with his 'creation'... OTOH I'd say there's a 20% chance that what I read was someone else's comments about what Art has said he might or might not be up to -!
Either way, I do know for sure so far as his returning to radio is concerned Art has definitely said "never say never"

Personally I don't think his heart is in it anymore either Alpha. In fact, there was a huge change in his personality even before he left radio. To me, he didn't sound like the same person at all. His 'spirit' was gone--his spark and fire to investigate all things just wasn't there anymore. From what I was listening to, he became somewhat of a big skeptic on many things.

There is another way of looking at it: maybe The MIB really did get to him.
Remember when he would tell callers not to say certain things, not to give certain predictions during the New Years' Eve Predictions Show, because he always gets visited by MIB when people do say certain things?

Hello!
I would like to express my sorrow at the passing of Shirley. She
was a bright light for so very long here and such a great Fan, she
will be missed by all.
It might be a good moment for me to say I will NOT be returning
to Coast in any form. In fact I have requested that Premiere Radio
cease Broadcast of the Saturday "Somewhere in Time" shows. My
reasons for this are at this time private. However if they choose
not to do so (as is their right) I will make my reasons Public as is
my right.
I know it is a well worn phrase but, please stay tuned.
