This is great, thanks. One could probably collect plastic jugs, cut out the scoops or shovels, pretty them up a bit and sell them at a swap meet or something.

I've been using plastic jugs as scoops for the birds, goats, packing feed, etc. for many years. They work great, and you can make them any shape (skinny, wide, sharp, etc.) you want.![]()

We always used something like this for bailing our the fishing boat - good handle, you can scoop a ton in an old bleach bottle for instance.
