I don't think this has anything to do with DSL Judee as I watch a ton of videos and have never had an issue with being infected with anything...then yet again, I don't know what you're watching!!!Originally Posted by Judee

What virus protection are you using? What are your security settings on your PC?
I have been using AVG Free edition for years and I have never...well let's say, rarely had a problem.

I watched the video about Einstein the African Grey, the video py posted about the chem webs in Australia, and one more video about an African Grey. I wasn't on any web sites that I don't usually go to, so who the heck knows? I wasn't running a 'proactive' virus program because with dial-up, you can't run one as it would slow things down to nothing--and I mean nothing. Anyway, I will install a antivirus program that is active now that I'm on DSL. Let me suggest that you download Microsoft Security Essentials. My son (an IT guy) told me to use it. He said they "finally got their act together". Also, I think (who am I?) that the free ones are just as good as anything that you might pay for.

Because I have always had a passive virus scanner. Meaning it doesn't work actively to stop a virus, but when I run a manual scan, it picked them up. I manually ran it often when on Dial-up. I decided to run it after my first day with DSL, and that's when it (for the first time ever) picked up two viruses. I have since installed AVG. Is there anything better do you know Project?
