As many of you know, I lost a huge part, if not most of my heart and my best friend Chi on July 18, 2012.

No-one will ever take her place in my heart and no matter how much I wish and want, I can't get her back here in the physical with me.
Since she was one of my greatest teachers, best friend and companions and with reverence to her and all she left me and my family with, we have decided to add a new "golden girl" to our family, to love and cherish and to pay it forward.
Today, we, my 2 sons and I went to see a litter of new Golden Retriever babies who were born on June 17, 2012.
There were 11 puppies in all....all of them cute and irresistible and just a little over 5 weeks old.
I wanted another girl and there were only 4 to choose from.
We visited, we held them all, we got to know "Mom" who is a wonderful beautiful girl.
My older son held Brisby first. She just couldn't stop snuggling and licking his chin. My younger son had another female and I had another.
We rotated them all around, over and over.
Of course they were all cute...basically irresistible, there was just something about this one puppy.
Brisby was that last of the female puppies that I held. I had her in my hands, a little above waist level and she basically climbed up my chest and started licking my face, which was different from all the other pups.
She in fact chose me!!!!
So here is our/my new girl Brisby.

Although we had a really tough time deciding on a name, Brisby is her name because of an old animated movie that is very near and dear to me, that my boys used to watch when they were little, titled "Secret of Nimh".
In that film, Mrs Brisby was the mother mouse who took such wonderful care and was full of love for her family and all beings around her....therefore a very special and meaningful name for me, with wonderful memories and meaning.
Here is the rest of Brisby's gang:

Here's her very tired Mom, a truly beautiful "golden", who sadly had to have a hysterectomy right after the puppies were born, due to a very large breech birth puppy.

Brisby has to stay with her Mom and siblings until the week of August 12, so we probably won't be picking her up until about August 16.
Although no furbaby will ever take the place of my Chi and all my fur babies I have had the privilege to share my life with, please welcome Brisby into our IW family.
