If I ever saw one, I'd have a heart attack before I could take a picture.

I know what you mean Dera. I think I've heard enough good stories though, not to be afraid too much.

Hope that helps. Sometimes a change in position or maybe even walking around a little helps some. See ya!

    Hi Judee

No, at this point we just have to wait. She'll be 6 weeks old this weekend. She has to stay with her Mom and siblings for atleast another 2 weeks. Then on August 13th, the breeder is taking her and the litter to the vet for the last appointment and I can go get her after that. She'll probably be coming home on August 16th.

I have to start puppy proofing my house and rearrange a bunch of stuff, get her kennel/crate set up etc.

It uses up a lot of their energy. Mikie still loves to play with his stuffy toys, but he doesn't chew anymore.
Maybe there is hope if Mikie quit--?? Yes we have a Kong. He isn't at all interested. A friend and I actually filled it with P-nut butter. He didn't care for that. It was hard to clean out eventually. We have "cookies" (NOT made in China, brand is Cesar--I wrote to ask them) that I have put in the Kong. He will fool around with it until the treats are gone and isn't interested in it after that. We have all kinds of chew toys, rubber and rawhide, but doesn't seem to care about them. Treats fall out easily if he rolls it around and are gone quickly. I am just hanging on and hoping he will grow out of all of this eventually. Sigh.

Won't that be exciting to have a young new life in the house? Just ask Dera!

    Sorry Dera!

Yeah right. Hi Alphs. I was hoping you'd make it tonight. Are you OK?

He will grow out of Dera. I've been teasing you, but he really will. Maltese are very strong willed, and they need two important things. First is to know they're loved totally so they trust you, and second is strong but gentle discipline. They do have an extraordinary desire to be with their human as much as possible. Mikie was somewhat neurotic when my sister brought him to me, but I loved him, and didn't 'coochie-coo him like she did, and now he's quite 'normal'...whatever that is!

Chi used to love to pull stuffing out of stuff and her toys. I'd have to watch her like a hawk and I used to sew up a bunch of her toys and put the stuffing back in...and I can't sew to save my life.

Is there anything that Nicky really likes to do that you could do more of with him to wear him out a bit?

    Hi Dera

Honestly, I'm kind of in between if you know what I mean. All of what has happened in the last 2+ weeks is still kind of surreal to me. I had to keep so strong and positive while Chi was so sick, bleeding that I kind of went on autopilot. As you know, I was frantic trying to get some vet to come and help me here at the house...it was truly a nightmare. The day I had to put her down was one of the most difficult one's in my life that I can remember. I'm still kind of numb, but I"m slowly thawing out of that now.

I'm glad I have another 2 1/2 weeks before Brisby comes home, because I need that time to heal and get my energy back to something positive and happy, which I hope I can achieve as dogs are very sensitive to the energy of their human companions and I want her to come into a healthy vibe....I hope I can do it.
