Long before I told this publicly of my too quick of a trip through Evansville, IN on US Hwy 41 N, the Dixie Bee Line. My long time and now late friend R. Gary Patterson had read it in e-mail. Years later I told it to Ian Punnett and Gary on Ian's Premier of Coast to Coast Live on Saturday nights.

In response to "this time trip/slip" Gary wrote me, "Just like Robert Plant you were a traveler of both time and space." Not another living soul interested in the paranormal could have sent me a better response.

Rest In Peace R. Gary Patterson and let's let this thread and his comment drift on into time.

When I was a kid I one night discovered that I could press lightly on my eyeballs with my eyes closed and induce highly patterned 'stars'. They were shaped like tire treads and moved like them too. The background changed colors also. It was really fascinating. (And no, I had not been exposed to anything hallucinogenic). Anyhow, after only a few minutes of this I opened my eyes. It was morning. Several hours had passed, but for me, only a few minutes.

When we find ourselves exposed to repetitious scenarios, we can lose all perception of time and enter a semi-conscious trance like state. I suspect this is what happened when you were on the road. The song had in reality ended and was played again later. Your mind blocked out the monotonous period inbetween in such a way that the two iterations of the song were merged.

    Welcome Chameleon to IW,

Well first of all thanks for splitting the ice and choosing my experience to comment on still a "first" for me. Whatever happened that night the song ended just as it should but the time factor that I chose to share live on air with Ian and Gary was just plain weird! Believe me driving any large rig safely was not monotonous back then and now. You have to stay focused on the dangerous game of "getting there" A-OK among fellow drivers of the wheel.

Thank you for giving this true account your good opinion on my trucking trip through Evansville on US Highway 41 to Faces "Stay With Me" that just was played one time on WJPS 1330 AM that long ago night. Because I surely would have wrecked my load if I was in a semi -conscious trance like state!

    Thumbs up

This video of Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir" will be here ready to play at any time unlike the one above with this explanation.............

"This video contains content from Warner Chappell, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."

Enjoy it like I do today, and I enjoyed it even more right after Gary wrote what he did replying to my e-mail so quickly. REF: His comment is found two posts above here.

Like I'd roughly told Ian and his great Rock N Roll mysteries expert guest R. Gary Patterson that Saturday night back in January 2006, "You should have been in my livestock rig with me to have enjoyed it!" - (the time slip "happening"!) But I'd guess if you were in the passenger's seat, it would not have happened, just like it did!

I do believe this synchronous personal trivia is not here yet for the record. REF: "Stay With Me" by the Faces - I told this too fast of a trip through Evansville, IN on US Highway 41 N on the premier night of Coast to Coast Live the evening of 1/27/06. At 10:45 PM I called into Ian and Gary while inside my long time friends house in Paducah, KY. Just luckily I was able to utilize his old, never played Y2K emergency wind up radio to keep up with the show and it had to be rewound about every ten minutes.

The cold Kentucky rain was pouring down outside so I could not listen from his 2 porches. Winding it was rather loud and he and his wife were asleep and hopefully not hearing it. You guessed it, right after the call my friend came into the living room to say he'd been hearing the winding. Then I told him this weird story for the first time ever. He did not utter a word or question it and so I did not ask for what he thought about it.

Then fast forward to a year ahead to near that same day in late January but now in 2007. I pulled up to park in front of his home on Iroquois Drive at 4:00 AM. My vehicle's radio was down low in volume. So while waiting a bit, I turned it up to hear the first guitar notes of Ronnie Wood's opening for "Stay With Me"! Man o man, I got a fast case of the goose bumps! If you can somehow relate to that "happening" that can similarly happen to us all at anytime!
