My friend's grandmother came over on the boat from Ireland. She lived to be over 100, but no one really knew her exact age because she had always lied about it. She wouldn't allow anyone to eat pork unless they ate apple with it. Applesauce, spiced apples, apple pie, whatever, would save you. She claimed that the pork would kill you without some kind of apple.
That tiny little old lady sure could cook. She made a thick (inch and a half?) pancake thingie out of mashed potatoes and cooked it in an iron skillet and sliced it like a pie to serve. It was to die for with some butter.Several of her family members and I have tried to duplicate it. Her great granddaughter has come the closest--but no cigar.

I don't know where I got the idea from. But I have made these knot things, and have one hanging on my front door, and my bedroom door. Should prolly tie one on the window to.

Actully. I have a Dream Catcher. ^_^
Its hard to explain the knot things though. Thier like 6 strands with one longer then the others to make 7 when looped over. Tie them all together in one direction, and use the long one to form a loop.
