Any 'silly' superstitions?

Before I board an airplane, as I am going through the door, I touch the outside of the plane. The couple of times I have forgotten to do this I was in a near panic during the flight. I know it does no real good, but it makes me feel better. Now that I have typed this, it sounds ridiculous... but I will continue doing it I am sure! I travel a lot for work and I don't like flying. Maybe it has warped me.

Hmmmm. Well, you are still around. I wonder if that would also work on other modes of transport? Cruise ship, train, bus, or even old Nellie out in the garage?

If a black cat crossed in front of my mother when she was driving, she would stomp on the brakes and go around another way. Once, a black cat crossed in front of me and I stopped... (idiot). After a minute or so, I kept on driving.

You MUST have black-eyed peas on New Year's Day for good luck.

When I fly. If we go through any rough patchs of air. I set my right hand on the cieling, or the wall, or the floor sometimes. I close my eye's, and focus my strength into the plane.

I do this for freinds to. Lay my hand on thier sholder, and say "Let my strength be yours." It seems to comfert them, and make them stronger. ^_^

It's funny that you should mention that, you just made me remember that I do the same thing just as I enter the plane when the flight crew greets me as I board.

Here's a weird addition to it though. I always get a Tomato Juice, V8, or Bloody Mary mix with my in-flight snack. I don't know if it is for luck or for tradition's sake but I suspect it is the former

Touching and revering something "elemental" always does it for me, among other things.

I've often wondered if that helps...if we all have a finite future/destiny or how when/how/where we can alter that, via free will/luck/choice or good or bad fortune....etc.?????

My current best theory is to be the best YOU that you can be...that should shake and mean something in any global/karmic/spiritual sense....both for yourself and others ...I hope...

Funny though...I won't walk under a ladder, step on any crack in the sidewalk, ...no thoughts about black cats though
