I did my share of pot in the 80's. But into the 90's it started to have an adverse affect on me. Paranoia! I attributed this to things being added to it somewhere along it's manufacturing journey. As I couldn't be sure anymore what was really in it, I stopped smoking it years ago. I've heard of other people having the same reaction.

Everyone reacts differently, it is most likely not a reaction to ingredients within the plant.

Personally, I think you became a little clearer about the world, and realized that everyone IS out to get you J/K of course, but again, different for all, some people can drink like a fish with few ill effects, others can't drink a sip of booze without freaking out.

I hear you Mcnowhere...I've had similar experience to your's in that timeframe.

Now I can chalk it all back to "bad stuff" that was doctored/sprayed/treated /laced way back then in the "market." It kept me away for a long time, as a result and similar experience to yours.

Find some "organic" stuff, for once in a blue moon or whenever...we Cannucks are fortunate that way.

Grow your own!! ...it's a herb afterall....."one pot should do it"

Do unto Others as you would have them do unto you

Gotta understand, the pot is much more powerful now than 20 years ago... and much more than 40 years ago! THC levels now can get up to 30% reputedly, when 60s pot was around 3-4%... this can really freak you out if you are ingesting similar quantities to what you were once used to!

Start with just one toke and put it down.

That must have started in the 90's and I was puffing away like it was the 60's.

I kept thinking, this ain't fun anymore and we do things to have fun right?

I get the odd whiff of it around town so seeds wouldn't be hard to obtain, I suspect.

You kids will have to wait until my generation croaks. We were browbeaten and it was deeply ingrained in our psyches that one hit on a marijuana cigarette would lead directly to heroin addition, a short desperate life in the gutter while crawling, slobbering, full of scabs, ending in a very early grave in Potter's Field. I now know that isn't true, but I am "enlightened" for my age group.

P.S. I found it to be quite an aphrodisiac!

OMG! That's the best laugh I've had in ages. Thanks for making my day Dera.

Reading your post caused me the same laughter as when I first saw "Reefer Madness" in the height of my hazy days.

I suspect I'm from the same generation as you Dera but I was a wee bit of a rebel and nothing was gonna pass ME by unexplored, much to the dismay of my long suffering Mother, Father, older brother's, teachers and everybody else who had any authority. I know that they wanted to puke every time they glanced at me.

Reminds me of the song, " One toke over the Line".
    From here to Eternity
