Orbs - What are they?

December 2009, I took some pictures of the christmas tree in our living room. A few months later, around late march , I happen to be looking at the pictures. I noticed a perfectly round orb. Bright white in color , about 4-6 inches across. The orb was perfectly round, and seemed to glow white. I blew the picture up, looked at it from every possible angle. I have had this digital camera a couple of years and it works perfectly. Just the other day, 6 may 2010, my wife and daughter were taking pictures and another orb showed up. Exactly like the other. Both pictures were taken in doors with a flash. Odd thing is that there were several pictures taken within minutes of each other from the same distance and angle. Now, I have read the post of several on this site. It could possibly be reflections, dust or anything. It may very well be what many think it is, some type of energy or spiritual presence. I have seen and experienced many visions and supernatural sights. Each person will believe what they can accept, where they are in a spiritual journey. The old saying that, " The biggest trick the devil ever played was convincing man he doesn't exist." This isnt to say these are in anyway evil. Unclean or evil spirits arent gonna register as white, especially light. It is not of their nature to eminate light. They dwell, operate and survive in the dark. They are essentially of dark essence. Void of the llght of the lord. I am a very stable, opened minded individual. I have no reservation about stating that I am a Christian, and know that there are things of this world that can cross the boundaries. There are individuals that for what ever reason will be able to see some things with their spiritual eyes that many around them wont be able to. So..., for post similar to those of "Divinorumus", inability to believe that the word of God, The Holy Bible, states that there are spirits and principalities that are of Good as Well as Evil in this world. I have seen dark shapes, hovering over me once when I was in my room in Saudi Arabia while working as a contractor. I looked up and saw these small dark figures hovering in the corner of my bedroom. It appeared to me that when I looked directly at them and focused my attention on them , that they seemed to realize I could see them. As soon as I did this they started floating down towards me. Well needless to see it scared the Bjesus out of me, and out of reflex I hollered " Jesus", soon as I did they backed up and faded away. Believe what you will. I have learned, and the bible states it, " dont cast your pearls before swine". Basically not every thing of a spiritual nature and wisdom, can be shared with everyone. If anyone has an interest, I have numerous visions that I dont mind sharing. Dont let individuals lead you around by the nose because they cant accept the world of the unknown, non physical. These individuals have no belief, not because they are evil, bad or ignorant. They have a hard time accepting God's word and the gospel. How can one say I believe in God, but I wont accept the possibility that what his godspel tells us can actually be true. .... Not every quirky image on a picture is a supernatural event. Nor can everything that is captured on disk, or film can be discounted as a fluke. Never be ashamed to say You are a child of God, and that you know that there is a spiritual world.

Great first post!!...so glad to have you here at IW!

I believe the "Creator"...God whatever one chooses to call him or her, does not really care what one's belief systems are, as long as they line up in action and deed, with the "good" and the ubiquitous care and love for all, with open mind, heart and soul/essence.

One of the most satisfying parts of conducting an investigation of an allegedly paranormal incident or place comes when you actually manage to obtain some "hard" or "real" evidence, as opposed to just the stories of people who claim to have seen or experienced something unusual. In my opinion, the best type of evidence that can be obtained of any alleged paranormal activity - short of actual physical evidence of an alien spacecraft, or a ghost - is photographic or video evidence of something which may be anomalous....................

So, what does this evidence show?

To say that I am skeptical about "orbs" as proof of something paranormal would be an understatement (as I note in the second video), but the circumstances, particularly the fact that Holly looked behind her just after the orb appeared, despite the fact that there was no-one else in the room, and she stated afterwards that she had no idea why she looked behind her just at that moment, makes me pause, and at least consider the possibility, given the confluence of events, that there might be something anomalous about this orb. Of course, that's not the same thing as saying that we encountered the spirit of the dead bride in room 473 - it's just me saying that I find it... interesting.

But as any good investigator should, I leave you with the evidence that we gathered, and encourage you to judge for yourselves.

I love how the ghost finally showed up when the girl was entering into an honest and genuine dialogue with said entity,,,,,and you know what,,,,,,I bet the ghost knew what it did. I Bet it knew that camera was there and in appreciation for what the girl said,,,,I bet she decided to show her self. Just a theory, but it seemed to take the longest path in front of the camera,,,and come out of the wall and everything.

Pretty cool. They said they were shooting in inferred didn't they????? I think so. I asked about the Kirlian photography night before last,,,,I'm gonna cut and paste,,,,seems fitting here.


Has anyone ever tried Kirlian photography in ghost/paranormal research???

I was on the fence about the Kirlian stuff,,,there is this guy who does donation only healings at the metaphysical book store by my house,,,,,,I was willing to try and see what was going on,,,so I arrived and everybody was sitting in a room,,there were chairs against everywall with a massage table in the middle,,so you can totally watch the healings going on and stuff, which is pretty cool. So while I'm sitting there, I meditate, open my third eye,,,and look to see If I can notice what is going on.......

I saw a light being working from behind the healer,,,,pretty cool stuff,,,,,the light being saw that I saw him/her and he/she came over and sat next to me. Pretty cool.
I mention this, because Jimmy Dodd,,,,yea,,,that's the healers name,,,,,he has a picture of himself in the store done with Kirlian photography and his is the only kirlian photo I"ve ever seen with four obviously huge orbs of light surrounding his head like a family photo or something.

I'm sure those orbs were light beings.....

It's probably like how you can create a plasma ball in the microwave oven.
It doesn't disprove the phenemenon of orbs being entities or ghosts.


On another note,,,,,,, Alpha your throwdown with DivineOrmus was legendary and I commend you for your amazing composure. DivineOrmus is like totally old school and seems to have been here for ever, he should know to respect folks and take it easy in an enviroment where folks come to get away from the bulldog attacking sceptisism that he displayed. This is a haven, not a battleground.

The Power of Orbs as Spiritual Entities

This is the first time I have ever heard anybody say exactly what I see in the complete dark.

I've often given people the procedure for seeing a ghost in the dark, and amazingly enough this guy sees pretty much what I see, I see reddish blobs of energy in the dark, and this guy is right there with me.
This guy is right on the money, and I totally give it up to him through my own corroberated personal experiences.

I've often told people, and I've given people lessons in this.
If you want to see a ghost with your own eyes, sit in absolute darkness,,,and when I say absolulte, I mean absolute.
Put a towel under the door, unplug the alarm clock, and I gotta say, it's tottally cool if you got a homey there for moral support.
Ask if there are any ghosts in the vicinty and while you are beckoning hold out your palms and project energy out of the palms of your hands.
Ghosts are almost ALWAYS in the vicinity, so, as long as your energetically compatable, and about 90% of people are, they should be there.

There is an excerpt from one of the Carlos Castaneda books, where Don Juan states "mankind is not afraid of the dark because he can not see in it, it was what he can see in it that makes mankind afraid of the dark"

Some few months before my granddaughter was killed in a car accident, the family had a family portrait taken with her standing on a stair case with the other children. After the picture was developed and made, there was a white light on her forehead. I still have the portrait hanging in my living room. We could never figure out what that light was. Not even the photographer knew what it was.
I think it was an Orb.

I've also seen images of white light coming from the head of most teenagers
I've got an old photo of my daughter when she was in high school where theres a triangular vortex of white energy shooting out of her head that I snapped. Its one of my most cherished images of her.
