Finally, he pulled into the parking lot at the dormitory. He sat in his car for several minutes with his head back trying to collect himself before going in. He was in no condition to answer any questions about how he looked.
Once inside, he glanced around. He obviously came in at the right moment. There was no one by the front entrance or even by the stairs to the second floor. He hurried up the stairs to the second floor where his room was. Out in the hallway were two of the students talking about something. They were so intense about the topic of their conversation, they didn't even notice Jeffrey walking by with his coat on.
Tom was not in the room. Jeffrey hurried to hang his coat then change into a pair of sweat pants and a T-shirt. He took some books out of his pack from school and laid them on the bed to make it look like he had been there studying. His hands were still shaking but he was beginning to get back some composure. Never in his wildest dreams did he ever think he could murder someone.
