For those of you who have the time and like to research on your own, here is a link http://www.eskimo.com/~billb/tesla/tesla.html that'll keep ya busy!
Nicola Tesla was born at exactly the stroke of midnight between July 9 and 10, 1856. It was in the small village of Smiljan, Croatia (then Austria-Hungary), and, forgive my personal ignorance of 21st Century GeoPolitics, I don't know what the Country is called today. Serbia? BosniaHerzgovenia? That durn map keeps changing! Perhaps someone can help us out here![]()
At your leasure, this link is very good: http://www.parascope.com/en/0996/tesla1.htm ATTEN TrueWireless: the picture of Tesla in that link is one I really like. GAWD he was a Handsome Man!
It describes the Man behind the Mind.
Both his parents were extraordinary. "Tesla had an older brother, Dane, whom he considered his superior in every way. When Nikola was five and Dane was twelve, Nikola was jealous of Dane's white stallion, which their father said Nikola was too young to ride. One day Nikola used a blow gun to shoot a pea at the horse, causing it to throw Dane from its back. Dane later died from his injuries. Feelings of guilt over this tragedy haunted Tesla throughout his life. No matter how great his achievements, he always believed that Dane could have outdone him. " cut and pested from the above link
Living with a genius, in the person of RainMaker, I can tell you that one should attempt to try to understand the Person who has been given such a great mind.
I will attempt to make my posts short. I do not promise any chronological order.
I do have several books on Tesla that I can refer to, and, of course, there are the websites.
I am expecting TrueWireLess to jump in![]()
And, sometimes, a subject as complex as "Nicola Tesla" is best covered by answering your questions.
"Nicola Tesla" will generate questions of "conspiracies", the battle between Tesla and Edison, The Robber Barons, genuine Science, a meriad of topics. Therefore, I trust that the Mods will realize this and allow this thread to take the twists and turns that cannot be avoided in a real discussion of this Greatest Genius of all time.
He has also been called "The Man Who Invented the 20th Century"
Thank you![]()
