What Is Love?

In the vernacular we use the word love to mean so many different thing. Just listen to how many times GN says "I love it!" during any given show compared to the "I love you"s spoken by the infatuated or the silent love expressed by old friends.

If we are indeed all one (as I believe) then Love truly equally shared for all. Truly Love is to recognize the divine within us all - or to recognize the connection we all share, if you don't acknowledge the divine. Love is for all equally.


OK, yeah - that's what I believe and have come to discover from a lifetime of searching for the divine. But I still feel more love to those special people in my life and special hate for others. So much more to learn and experience.

How subtly can one go to fathom the point of origination of any experience, concept or sentiment?

Of all that you can "feel", wouldn't you include love as one of the most substantial, most profound, most inclusive, most healing of all emotions?

When you are in love with another being, doesn't the world seem to open up more fully, greater skills from your subtler mind flourish forth, and greater healing occur within yourself, both physically and psychically, and with others?

Trace back from the myriad forms of love and you'll find the originating point from which the Universe manifests. Love is not anchored into the transitory forms of this changing Universe, love is anchored in the singularity of the Universe and finds expression in the evolution of each and every being in their journey toward their and our desideratum: the point of origination of this manifest Universe.

Many people will ponder factors of the Universe, including that it may be a "holographic" experience. If such is the case, and my experience demonstrates that it is, then a corollary will include that whatever one's capacities are, in every realm of life, are predicated upon the Universe having such capabilities. Thus, whatever one relishes as the most magnificent experience or capability imaginable -- at any moment -- then it is the Universe that both gave you the capability [or rather is experiencing through you] to even contemplate that notion, experience it in your imagination, and even to manifest it if it is possible. It also indicates that when you experience anything with "another" object, a being, a loved one as well, your relationship, which seemingly is with only that object engaged, is actually with the Universe itself.

If such is the case, then love, among all things, is not only an origination from the Universe, it is also at its maximum potentiality within the Universe as a whole and as a singularity, and in that Constancy of its wholeness and its singularity, love, experienced from the Universe's frame of reference, is constant, nonfluctuating and not sphinctered by mean-spirited selfishness. Any such notions are misguided emotions and concepts suffered by the guise of any such believers. This is why wrong-minded ideologies must be rent asunder ruthlessly for they debilitate the nature to and the inalienable right of living beings to experience and express love in their every thought, word and deed and to conjugate such ecstasies with others in the mutuality of such shared bliss.

So, how to do this? Quite obviously, it is in developing a relationship with, or actually modifying our mindframe about the Universe. Most ideologies, especially ecclesiastical ideologies, are rooted in sentimentality and transitory selfish interests -- interests that all too often compromise the deserved dignity and wellbeing of others, if not today then at some time, past or present. Regardless of sentimentalities or limited purviews of self, others and the Universe, all things emanate from and integrate with the Universe and each other with continuities: subsets of the larger whole.

The reason we experience greater happiness, greater subtleties of mind, more fortuitous circumstances and all around greater fulfillment while we experience love and have loving relationships is because such relationships and the state of mind of "love" optimize us in every realm, including our vitality and the efficiencies by which our body and mind operate. This is a continuity. And it also demonstrates that, while we "feel" love and many emotions are synchronized with the subtler emotions flourishing while the cruder ones become more quiescent, that love is not one of several emotions ... love is life optimized, love is a state of being involving greater optimization of the Universe's capabilities more unfettered to express themselves within us, and for "us" to go beyond the myopic perimeters confined solely to self but to identify "self" as the singularity of the Universe, not an isolated symptom in the vicissitudes of chaos.

Reframing our minds to establish ourselves at the point of origination of this Universe and anchor ourselves in love what Tantra is about. It operates in realms subtler than any ism, except for one: Universalism. We come from the Universe, were of the Universe, and we dissolve back into the Universe in undifferentiated union with that ocean of love. This is where to find the most certain of answers to all our questions and to express with the confidence and certitude the subtleties of life from this greater being and greater knowing we are through reclaiming this loving relationship with the Universe which has gone ignored for far too long.
