When one honestly and unbiasedly examines selfish self-gratifying human desires and intentions and activities upon earth, even the activities of those that proclaim they are like saintly angels, how can one not wonder if even evil thinks highly of itself I suppose too?

Humans use, abuse, terrorize, and murder other life forms for food. And they displace and drive into extinction wildlife with their rape and exploitation of the Earth. They obstruct natural migration routes with their borders and fences. They suck and burn earth blood (a.k.a. oil) from the Earth for fun and profits. And they even jack and murder their own kind for fun and profit.

One would have to be selfish and evil and proud of it and have a twisted upside-down understanding of naughty and nice to think humans are generally a nice creature to have around on a planet. Most humans are undeniably NOT noble.

This is indisputable! Ask any of Earths other citizens.

The human race in general as a whole oversteps its needs. This is true.

We consume more then the earth can provide.

We make war on eachother over every petty little thing.

We have tried to wipe out others, to alow our own to become the one race.

I can not wipe away these sins.

But in mankind I see many acts of selfless kindness, and noble acts.

We just choose to see the bad, rather then notice the good.

True, there is still some goodness and righteousness out there to be found, somewhere, but it's becoming harder and harder to find it. And when you do think you've found it, don't be so sure right away that you have.

Even evil can fake goodness in order to get what it wants from you. A child molester/kidnapper will act like the candyman until it gets what it wants. The same with a sugar daddy. And Catholic priests. And the taxman. And maybe even a spouse. Even the one person you may have trusted and cared about the most can suddenly slip up and reveal their true colors and stab you in the back.

And, sure, who IS without sin? And, who can even identify every sin? Six years ago I would have said eating flesh and blood is not a sin. Then an elf told me otherwise. Certainly every sin can be forgiven, but NOT until one has learned AND changed FIRST.

Us here in Ohio know he's an elf. He's no businessman or politician.

I saw that special on public television. It was neat. I used to think a lot of folklore may have been based on real events in prehistoric times.

    Elvish obsession

I was always obsessed with Tolkien's elves. When you go on the net and Google Vikings, Paganism, Nordic and Celtic history, or look those things up in the library, it becomes wildly evident that Tolkien's elves were based in real history. You can take that two ways. You can think of elves as made up and become disenchanted, or, as an adult, you can suddenly become aware that just when you thought there was no more, an endless world of possibilities open up. That's what I did.

    This was a good read...thought I'd share.

I think it is no coincidence that these beings are "lore" or more, all over this planet.

A Gnome By Any Other Name

My paternal grandmother was born in a rural area of Sweden in 1891, and when I was a boy she told me stories of the Tomte (as I understand it, Tomte is plural and the singular is Tomten), small beings that took the appearance of old, bearded men. The Tomte were no more than 3 feet tall and wore pointed hats, which we’ve of course come to associate with gnomes and similar creatures. Legend tells that the Tomte were capable of invisibility and could shapeshift, sometimes taking the appearance of a large, grown man.

Also, according to legend — and Grandma Alice’s stories — Tomte would usually be found on a farm and would carry out chores at night and help care for the farmer’s animals. It was thought to be bad luck to see a Tomten, but my grandmother claimed that she would often find his small footprints in the snow or mud around her home........................

So, is it possible that little people once existed, or do currently exist? If so, are they flesh-and-blood beings such as ourselves, simply an undiscovered race of creatures that has cleverly hidden themselves from us? Or, are they something more than that? Are they of an interdimensional or paranormal nature? Folklore has consistently described them as having magical gifts and properties, but is that nothing more than myth and fairytale?

As the newer developments in quantum physics point us to a different view of the nature of reality, that we exist not in a Universe, but a Multiverse, is it possible that there might be beings that can traverse these different planes of existence, moving between our reality and others? What connection, if any, have reports of these creatures in a paranormal context have to do with the modern reports of alien abductions and missing time experiences? This is an area which I personally find fascinating and will revisit frequently in the course of my writing on this blog. Meanwhile, I encourage anyone who has an opinion about such matters to comment on this article.
