Witnesses shaken by sighting

"I tend to be scientific by nature, and I don't understand why aliens would hover over a busy airport," said a United mechanic who was in the cockpit of a Boeing 777 that he was taxiing to a maintenance hangar when he observed the metallic-looking object above Gate C17.

"But I know that what I saw and what a lot of other people saw stood out very clearly, and it definitely was not an [Earth] aircraft," the mechanic said.

One United employee appeared emotionally shaken by the sighting and "experienced some religious issues" over it, one co-worker said.

A United manager said he ran outside his office in Concourse B after hearing the report about the sighting on an internal airline radio frequency.

"I stood outside in the gate area not knowing what to think, just trying to figure out what it was," he said. "I knew no one would make a false call like that. But if somebody was bouncing a weather balloon or something else over O'Hare, we had to stop it because it was in very close proximity to our flight operations."

Damned swamp gas strikes again!

The above-referenced article says: "The Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (the term that extraterrestrial-watchers nowadays prefer over Unidentified Flying Object)..."

Is this, "UAP" term something that I missed? Has everyone/anyone else known of this before?

What I find interesting is that all the major networks reported it, like CNN, MSNBC and Fox. It must have been a good one and they are desperately trying to cover it up with some strange weather aparatus explanation.

Too many employess and others saw it Mcnowhere, so I think they had no choice. It made most of the major newspapers as well.

I'm sure they'll find a way to discount this one as well...they always do.

O'Hare is a huge airport ...dirty and nasty too. However, too many people to threaten to fire if they don't keep quiet and still keep it running!

There was a report in Calgary last week aswell. Something is coming. They seem to show up just before and after a major event. Keep your eyes on the skies.

Maybe they are here in relation to global warming. I personally believe that this is a much more serious issue than the powers that be are letting on. We are now going to lose our polar bears due the ice fields breaking away. Things are happening very quickly it seems.

I will be having a sleep deprived night tonight as I have to listen to Art and Whitley. But what the hell, next day is Friday.

BTW, I am compelled to anounce that I have a brand new 8 lb. grandson (James) born at 7:10 this morning. Mom and Dad live 200 hundred miles away but they put him on the phone for me to hear him cry for his first breakfast, when he was only a half hour old. I will be meeting him on Saturday.

I just watched Glenn Beck on CNN Headline News, and he had a segment on the O' Hare sighting. I also just saw a segment on Fox news the other day. The story is starting to get a lot more exposure. I have a feeling that we haven't heard the last of this. I wonder if we will start having even more public sightings.

Maybe this was a test to see how the public would deal with it? Maybe we are a step closer to full disclosure?

Here is an article from CBS news that proves something occurred and the FAA tried to cover it up. Take notice of the last line that states it took a "Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)" request to get the FAA to admit that reports were actually filed. Now why would it take a FOIA request to admit that reports were filed if it was just a weather event?

UFO At O'Hare? Officials Say Weird Weather

CHICAGO, Jan. 2, 2007(CBS/AP) Federal officials say it was probably just some weird weather phenomenon, but a group of United Airlines employees swear they saw a mysterious, saucer-shaped craft hovering over O'Hare Airport last fall.

The workers, some of them pilots, said the object did not have lights and hovered over an airport terminal before shooting up through the clouds, according to a report in Monday's Chicago Tribune.

The Federal Aviation Administration acknowledged that a United supervisor had called the control tower at O'Hare, asking if anyone had spotted a spinning disc-shaped object. But the controllers did not see anything, and a preliminary check of radar found nothing out of the ordinary, FAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory said.

"Our theory on this is that it was a weather phenomenon," Cory said. "That night was a perfect atmospheric condition in terms of low (cloud) ceiling and a lot of airport lights. When the lights shine up into the clouds, sometimes you can see funny things."

The FAA is not investigating, Cory said.

United spokeswoman Megan McCarthy said company officials do not recall discussing any such incident from Nov. 7.

At least one O'Hare controller, union official Craig Burzych, was amused by it all.

"To fly 7 million light years to O'Hare and then have to turn around and go home because your gate was occupied is simply unacceptable," he said.

Some witnesses interviewed by the Tribune were upset that federal officials declined to further investigate the matter.

The witnesses, who all spoke to the Tribune under condition of anonymity, said they had a difficult time finding the object as it flew through dense clouds. Witnesses also said the object created an open hole of clear air in the cloud layer that disappeared a few minutes after it passed through the clouds.

The FAA initially denied there were any reports of a UFO sighting, but later backtracked after a Freedom of Information Act filed by the newspaper revealed the call by the United supervisor to the FAA.

They took the same AP story as the one I posted above entitled UFO At O'Hare? Officials Say Weird Weather and instead gave it the title O'Hare UFO sighting draws little credence

They then gave the the same report, word for word, as the UFO At O'Hare? Officials Say Weird Weather story but left out the section with all of the witness statements and the FAA coverup comments.

Instead they ended the story with the "To fly 7 million light years to O'Hare and then have to turn around and go home because your gate was occupied is simply unacceptable," comment to make the story seem laughable and ridiculous.

I just wish some of these news outlets like the Buffalo News would have the balls to actually try and gather facts and interview witnesses. Its called being a reporter "Buffalo News". Anyone can copy and paste an AP news story, but it takes a special breed of gutless coward like yourselves to leave out the statements of credible witnesses who are risking their professional careers to come forward and report on what they saw.

EDIT: I have checked many other news sites such as Fox News and others and I have found the same censored article with the witness statements and FAA FOIA info omitted. I'm sorry for singling you out Buffalo News, I guess you aren't the only news source asleep at the switch...
