    In a nut shell, so to speak, here is my opinion of Mr. JC:

    I can't believe anyone would think JC is real. Art Bell started this myth, and George Noory perpetuates that JC is real--even though JC often pokes fun at himself in a reverse sense (as if accidently) and then feigns outrage.

    You can find this dumb wikipedia entry of JC under the name Art Bell in the "featured callers" section:

    (J.C. Webster the Third, or "J.C." – J.C. began calling in 1996, and has since been on the air over 50 times. He features himself to be a Revival Baptist preacher, and believes Art to be "the Devil's Mouthpiece." He has continued to call George Noory and guest hosts. Although some have expressed a disbelief that someone like J.C. could exist, Art Bell and George Noory have repeated their beliefs that J.C. is real, and is neither a "put on" nor a "plant.")

    But I've heard one too many JC calls over the span of years that he's been calling, and I can tell you for fact that JC is intentionally mocking a type of evangelistic street preacher of a type that hollers to people on the side of street with an open bible in their hands although I'm not sure that is something anyone does anymore. Maybe only on sensationalistic, Maury Povich-styled TV talk shows, or maybe they exist only in towns that won't allow technology--I don't know.

    All I know is that I don't enjoy JC and I don't think he's funny or entertaining, it doesn't help that knowing his little whiney voice which goes right through you is fake, and that makes only makes the whole presentation more aggravating. When I'm listening to Coast at work and JC comes on, it's just the worst and a good reason to switch the radio off.

    Its a low blow from a show that claims to care about anykind of truth about issues facing the world or national governmental issues facing our country such as illegal immigration and outsourcing.

    How can you hope a show like this will tell the truth about real issues when they pass of a stupid character like JC as being real. If I were a guest that had something serious to say, especially remaining credible about UFOs, I'd feel the show was trying to discredit me. Sure they give you the platform to talk and then George pulls out the dreamy, imaginary, childish $hit with JC, Dr. Morgus, and UFO Phil. Call it the schizophrenic nature of Coast to Coast which doesn't have any differentiation for when it is time for play or when it is time for work.

    It's time for Coast to Coast AM to come clean and admit that JC is a fake that they are willingly participating in the perpetuation of a myth.

    I have always thought that JC was a ridiculous "put up job", even with Art whom I will usually support and defend. How can JC always get through on the phone while other callers say they have been trying for months or even years? What a crock. But I suppose there are many people --um-- of the mentality who really enjoy slapstick, nitwit, forced "comedy". And he gets more silly every time he is put on the air! Luckily, my radio has an "off" control! Viva la difference of opinion, eh?

    Works for morning-drive radio. And one other guest that shows up is also a production artist that works for Clear Channel.

    Yeah, I was usually half asleep for that morning drive 25 mi. to LA civic center. I belonged to a Citizen's Band radio club, tho', that kept me awake and laughing--and yes, we got pretty silly at times! We friends were a lot more fun than the commercial radio stuff!

    I remember the ol' CB days. For me it ended in the late 70s.

    But there is a good group on ham radio that tear it up every so often. I'll never forget the night I was listening to one ol' Southern boy talking about being on the radio when his wife brought him in some dinner, a hamburger from a fast food place.

    As he just opened the wrapper, someone called him on the radio, and he set the hamburger on his lap as he talked. Unknown to him was that his beagle was under the radio table, and decided to do a snatch and run on the burger .... but missed and caught the fellow in the, well, you know.

    The pain of the event caused him to clamp the mic and not let go, which lead to a minute of the fellow screaming in pain, followed by this sweet little southern female voice saying, "Carl! What on earth are you yelling about?"

    Here I go hijacking a thread--this has nothing to do with JC. 'Scuse, please.

    The old CB Radio days of the 70's were a real blast! I belonged to a group calling ourselves the "Over the Hill Gang" (altho' compared to today I was a mere child then). We usually traveled alone in our cars both ways from home to work and versa-vice in the afternoons--some even on separate freeways. We often stopped in the afternoon for a "Coffee Break" or maybe a cocktail and got to know each other in person.

    The hill that we traveled over was called, "Trash Hill", because it was a dump site. The smell was ghastly. We had what we called, "Dipsy Doodles", which were places where we left the freeway and drove on surface streets to get past particularly heavy traffic tie-ups. Whoever was out front would report back and advise whether to take the Big Dipsy or the Little Dipsy or to just stay on the freeway. It really made the long 50 mi. round trip pass quickly and was a lot of fun.

    Some mic cords got tangled up around steering wheels, but it seemed to me to be a whole lot safer than the cell phones in use these days. None of us, that I know of, ever had a wreck while "ratchet jawing"

    From the image it looked like car jacking.

    To elaborate on one of my previous messages, one of the "characters" that shows up from time to time on Coast to Coast is a production guy from one of the Clear Channel stations.

    It's disappointed when you tune in to be entertained with science, or paranormal discussion ... and get some shtick that belongs on a music radio station in the morning. Oh well.

    Oh yeah. Weren't the "olden days" on C2C something to behold? We never know what we've got until we lose it.

    I hate to beat the dead horse, as all we have now is bones. But I think at some point the line was crossed from intellectual conversation to pure entertainment. Kind of like transitioning Meet the Press over to Jerry Springer. Oh well.
