Judee, I have my rock pick with at all times, and I have found many surprises!

I brought home a box of pegmatite, and it's gonna get the business very soon!

Here is an ordinary looking rock I recently cracked open. Inside was a fossil leaf!

How about you, Judee? Ever been hunting for rocks?

Hey, that's cool Squid! It almost looks like a Birch leaf. No, I've never done rock hunting, but I know if I ever did, I'd be hooked! I did kick a rock on the road here once, and it cracked open and inside there were white crystals. Does that count? It seems I've always been too busy working 24/7 with the animals to get away for any length of time. Hopefully that will change soon. Keep us updated with any new finds. I'm very fascinated with this - honestly!

I collect rocks and minerals, but mainly from gem and mineral shows. Also when we travel, I look for rock type souveniers and have brought home many rocks I've found on beaches and such.

I used to collect fossils. I had boxes of slate in my closet. Mom always new the right time of day to through out stuff.

My brother is a big rock hound and lived in the Mammoth lakes area for years. He would go all around Crowley lake and the Bishop area as well. In addition to rocks he would find arrowheads and spearheads made from obsidian. He has a lot of fossil stuff and well as geodes from our uncle's farm in Iowa.

My son Nate never knew a rock he didn't love.
