This year I may trip over myself trying to lay my hands on a ticket...Al Green? Billy Joel? I'll stop there before I faint from sheer glee.....

I envy you Delphine! I hope you have a wonderful time. And what a great thing this is for New Orleans too!

New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival

New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has always attracted people as it is one of the best known festivals in US. The Jazz Fest is an important occasion to celebrate music and culture. As the festival has a great popularity, people always wait for attendance with great passion. Me too, I’m no exception because I’m one of the music lovers and I’m looking forward to be on time. But what disturbs a little in such important events is tickets which become hard to get or their prices become so high. I’ve just recommended a site to compare tickets prices before booking and I find this an important idea because this way one can look for the cheapest offered prices. Here is the link in case you want to use it:

Anyway I hope I won’t miss this wonderful occasion.

It's sadly true that this "grass roots" festival is harder to attend this year. It may be good for the resurgence of New Orleans, but this has always been a "come one, come all" event.

Thanks for your post, Thomas. I hope all who want to attend this "once-in-a-lifetime - type" gathering are able to snare tickets.

    I am there.....in spirit......

    Today...a N'Awlins "Monsoon"....

As Billy Joel plowed through "Keeping the Faith" at the Acura Stage, a "roadie" armed with a squeegee swept standing water off the top of the black grand piano. That tells you all you need to know about the weather Saturday evening at the Fair Grounds in New Orleans.

Joel had some questions for the Almighty....More than once, he shook his fist and glared at the foreboding sky. "Is that the best you got?" he shouted at one point. "C'mon, bring it on."

    BUT, FRIDAY'S OPENING WAS EVIDENTLY A BUST-OUT!!!
With flecks of rain falling from the sky and the Mississippi River at flood stage -- not to mention New Orleans' recent history -- the setting for "When the Levee Breaks" could not have been more dramatic. Plant and Krauss absolutely tore into it against surging mandolins. She pushed her voice to the limit to keep pace with his wail....

    N'Awlins...
It is hurt, it is limping, it is sore. But New Orleans is alive 'n kickin'!!!

    I had my theory's why you were missing, they included;

    • Took vacation.
    • Needed a break from the forum.
    • Located a small assortment of vintage liquors in a vacant house, and had to make sure it didn't go to waste.
    • Three words: Rich Prince Charming
    • Mega Millions winning ticket.
    • Lonely for the north. Thumb tired of hitching a ride.
    • Decided to write your own O.S. for your computer. Still working on Dephine 3.1

Delphine, your posts about New Orleans are always a ray of sunshine! Thank you! I LOVE the picture of the guy sitting down in the rain water! Keep it coming, please.
