I still think he'll show up one day and proclaim the aliens took him away for a few years, and he has a novel and movie deal he wants to sell you all.

Well, to get a new identity and relocate does take quite alot of money, although not necessarily millions. You have to be able to drop everything you have and leave, and never come back to it again, you have to buy a new place to live (unless you can find somewhere to build, and even in canada that would be hard) without selling your old one... I mean, you gotta have at least a few hundred grand just to get started I would say, and then get ready to have to support yourself somehow.

If you have lots of money, many countries will welcome and protect your identity.

I really don't know if you would need $100,000. I think the formula would be to have everything planned out, convert assets or hide assets, and then find someone in the mob or international circles who could forge the proper documents.

The documents would be work and money, but I'm thinking that $10,000 could get a new identity. The big thing would be the time needed to perpetuate the hoax, as well as the disposal/conversion of assets. The big problem with most people is that they are impatient, which could drive up the cost if they had to do it in 1 week.

But I think if someone had 2-5 years to plan and execute it, they could easily hide in a big city or in the countryside. There are people that do this already to protect their wealth, or because they are just sick and tired of society and want to hide. Some go to great strides to make their outward appearance seem so unappealing, yet they are 180 degrees on the other side of the door of their home.

    Exclamation Lexigram of his name

Lexigram, the story in your name. By using the letters in your name you reveal your life story. I saw this many years ago in a book by Linda Goodman, called, “ Linda Goodman’s Star Signs”
    [link to www.linda-goodman.com]

James Stephen Fossett (born April 22, 1944) is an American aviator
From the letters in his name we get this story….

    AEEEEFHJMNOPSSSSTTT

Month of Sept. ,steam, HOT MASS [ wreckage ] ON TOP OF MONT PASS , he sat on moss, safe atop , .. HEAR TEAM….SAFE HONEST MAN
THE MAN SAFE, ON TOP OF MOUNT PASS , MONTH OF SEPT .. no MORN of Stephen

He [Stephen] on post , to see , step on , safe man .

JET MAN , MAST MAN (at sea ) , NO, NOT STOP TO TOP ..
HAM MAN[ communications ] , FAST MAN [set many speed records]
Mean [Arithmetic Mean, The arithmetic mean is what is commonly called the average: When the word "mean" is used without a modifier, it can be assumed that it refers to the arithmetic mean. ] …..Math Man ..
    Name SENSE east
SEE SEA HOT SAFE , TO STOP EARN

Most ridiculous and absurd. Preposterous. Ones name does not determine their fate or destiny in life, well, unless you were a male and your parents named you Sissy or Gomer or something like that, ha. Trust me, you have freewill to decide for yourself your life.

It is a sign post, but alas, like most sign posts in life many choose to ignore them, .... often at their own peril..
    Or so me thinks..

I thought I'd put in my two cents worth. The Fossett dissappeance is an interesting mystery to be sure. They have poured over his projected flight plan with all kinds of technology and found nothing. That is odd, and highly unlikely if the plane actually went down.

I would first do exactly what his insurance company is doing. "Follow the money". What, if any, benefit is there to him dropping off the face of the earth? Was he experiencing any kind of financial difficulties, or impending investigations? Trouble with the wife? All the basics. The look at the facts and history of Steve flying. A.)He almost never flew alone without a co-pilot, who was with him?
B.)How often did he change a flight plan in mid-flight? C.)Was is possible for him to both disable his beacon, and fly under the radar?

One of the reasons the insurance companies are not paying on his wife's claim of death, is the total lack of evidence of death. To many other viable varibles exist to indicate he is simple "off the radar". The real interesting question to speculate on is "WHY"?
A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still

Last I heard there was another group who decided to search the flat top mountain to the west of the Flying M Ranch. I'd say that's the spot where they'll locate Steve Fossett. He'll be half to three quarters of the way up the side of it.

That's where I placed a couple of push pins in my google map.

To Lear, I've never met an adventurous pilot who wouldn't take the time
to circle around a mountain in good weather.

When you have the penthouse view, it's hard not to enjoy the scenery. And it can be distracting.
