    They Are Listening

    Is there any way to disconnect the build in microphone in my laptop? I don't trust the software.

    Would putting a tape on it not muffle the sound?

    If you go into the control menu's under Sounds, or record. There should be a mircophone sensitivity bar to tweek with.

    I've done that. Like I said above I'm still not comfortable with the software. If they can get into my system to use the microphone they can turn the volume back up at will. I'll try the tape thing. I have some electrical tape in my tool box.

    Um. Put a peice of tape over the openning.

    do you ever use the mic? if not, and if you don't have any future plans to, you could simply open the casing and cut one of the wires to the mic. if you do, make sure the wire ends are covered to keep them from shorting something else out.

    That is an option. I have thought about opening the case but a little nervous about touching something and screwing up my system with a single static spark.

    I'll look at it tomorrow but for now see below.
